I do think, that her offer to remove it, or leave the courtroom, could have been a resolution, rather than the cost of sending her to jail for a couple of days.
On the other hand, if a person, is THAT stupid, to have a shirt on like that, and walk into a courtroom, that's beyond normal stupid. I have a picture in my head, of what she probably looks like, and her probable demeanor, and it doesn't support the statement, that the shirt made.

judge was no dude.
"Associate Judge Helen Rozenberg held Jennifer LaPenta, who was attending a hearing in a friend's case, in contempt of court for wearing a T-shirt that read: "I have the p***y, so I make the rules.""
I guess Judge Helen Rozenberg has a bigger one than Jennifer..

Honestly, then she should not have entered the courtroom in the first place. Personally, I stay away from wearing offensive slogans, or crude remarks on my clothing. What you advertise says a lot about you.
And what you post says a lot about you. You are an intolerable a hole who has no respect for our freedom of speech. She can wear whatever the hell she wants, that is what makes America great. I also agree with her shirt, if women stopped giving out the p***y, the male run world would crumble

In certain settings, such as a court room you have no freedom of speech. Conduct is dictated by rules, order and protocol.
Oh I see, you're a make up the rules as they apply to your beliefs kind of person. There is no gray area, freedom of speech is freedom of speech. Your neighbors and kids(hopefully you have never bread) must really hate you

Dude? You make no sense!
No you cannot wear what you want when you enter a place that has RULES. Even at restaurants, some require suits.
The whole meaning is that you respect the laws and courts. This isn't Hooterville where the only cop is the Justice of the Peace also. Freedom of speech is the spirit of the law. You scream "foxtrot unifrom" in a public place, you might just be arrested or asked to leave. Go try it out and get back to us on that.

Obscene material is not speech entitled to First Amendment protection. Miller v. California, ante, p. 15; Roth v. United States, 354 U.S. 476. P. 54.

LMAO....I think this is great. The funniest thing I have read in a while. You know I don't think it was just her shirt that landed her in jail for the couple of days but her smart ass mouth when questioned about it. I think if she would have simply stated she was doing a favor for a friend and didn't realize that she was wearing this shirt in particular and it wasn's a problem to leave the courtroom for wearing offensive material...oh and apoligized. I think she wouldn't have had to sleep two nights in the slammer. Disrespect gets you nowhere. What an idiot.

I disagree. One should display a certain level of decorum and respect in the court room. Kudos to the judge for not tolerating that kind of crap in her court room. Young people, it's time to get a clue.
i say phukke them, the courtrooms of America are filled with prissy corporate hacks, self important prikks, mongeral scum and imbeciles. drunkards and lowlife s most of thm.

No,.... your response says a lot about you! You have either NEVER been in a courtroom, and are too stupid to understand proper attire, or you have, and will continue, to spend a lot of time in court rooms.

Now, close your trailer door, and go to sleep, before you hurt yourself.

This happened in the county I live in. The woman offered to change her shirt, but the judge had her jailed anyway. She was not treated too decently at the jail. All she did was give a ride to a friend. She should have been given the option of leaving the courtroom. I think the judge is a little power-hungry.
why don't you read it again , she offered to disrobe (I'll take it off).. god forbid that people should follow the rules ....
