I know lots of people who always have the last word. Just let them have it and move on....

Sometimes my husband and I will do this thing where we each try to have the last word or sound. One will mumble something and the other will then respond with a noise. It goes on for a while until we go different ways. Very fun. We laugh a lot!

I think it's 50/50. Both sexes are guilty of it.

I once had a dof who weighed about 55 pounds who used to break up conflicts between my wife and I and also between cats hissing at one another (or worse) in my household. She didn't like fights and one bark by her often ended the conflict. She died early last year of cancer at about 121/2 to 13 years of age (birthdate uncertain).

Let me say that she was one of a kind as far as dogs are concerned, and quite a character. I still miss her.

When we were kids, we had a dog like that. He was a border collie and coyote. Smart dog, he also hated smoking, when the boys would go outside and smoke behind the barn, that dog would knock cigarette out of their mouths, and put it out. Either he hated smoking or did not want them to get caught..lol!
I had a DNA Test done on that dog. She looked like she was 3/4 shepherd and 1/4 Rottweiler, but the DNA test indicated she had neither and had some Spitz type breeds in her background along with varying amounts of other breeds. She had the general appearance of a German Shepherd with the coloration and solid build of a Rottweiler. She loved to go for long walks and for rides in the car. She would also start pulling in tandem with my other dog when we came to a certain intersection in order to make sure I didn't try to abort the length of the walk. She was sometimes more inclined to do as she pleased rather than try to please, but that was all part of her personality and it made her what she was. she was a handful at first, but with persistence, I finally was able to show who was boss and it wasn't her.

In her last days, I took her with me whenever it was posssible when I drove my car including a ride to the store (it was after sunset and it was cool enough to let her stay in the car while I shopped) about 30 hours before she breathed her last. Her last day with me, she followed me around more than usual as if she knew the end was near. I thought about having her put to sleep, but she hated vet's offices and I did not want her final memory to be in a vet's office. She died peacefully in my arms at about 1:35AM on 01/08/12 from cancer. She was almost 13 and I had her for over 12 years.
