KPD stunned by death of officer Kingsland Police Department personnel
are mourning the loss of a fellow
The body of Cynthie Hindman,
the evidence custodian in the departments
investigations division, was
discovered early Thursday at her
home in Folkston.
Foul play is not suspected, according
to Stacy Carson, assistant special
agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau
of Investigations Kingsland office.
The GBI is investigating the
case, as it involves a law enforcement
Hindman, 50, had worked for
Kingsland since 1998, with brief stints
at the College of Coastal Georgia and
St. Marys Police Department, according
to KPD chief Darryl Griffis.
Many in St. Marys knew her by her
married name, Cynthie Savage.
Griffis said he and his staff are
shocked and saddened by Hindmans

this morning, Griffis said Thursday.
Its hard to believe someone could be
there one day and gone the next.
He said he spent several days with
Hindman last week as they waited to
testify in the murder trial of Amos
Southall, who was convicted Friday in

Griffis said.Her work was immaculate.
She always volunteered to help
with any project we had.
GBI investigators are now awaiting
autopsy results from the agencys
crime lab in Savannah, Carson said.
