I'm sure if he had just ordered some take out he could have made it..of course he may have been hungry again in only a few hours...sad that...still, the dogs safety would have still be in question..I don't care what those Chinese places say..!
If eating dog is okay for Koreans and Chinamen it's okay for a person who has no other choice.

Thanks for the gang bang, I enjoyed it ! The guy was not dying, he could have survived on bugs or grass anything.
He's in the hospital in very serious condition. I'd say he was dying.

Have you ever gone more than a day without eating, arm chair survival expert?

Sounds like a publicity stunt to me, what a freak! He could have eaten grass, berries, leaves.
From the story:

Survival instructor Caleb Musgrave said: "Up there, in the Canadian shield, there's little plant life to live off, so he would have been slowly, painfully dying when they found him.

Biting my lip to not say anything about arm chair trekkers comments:(

All things considered if HE would have passed first the dog would have instinctively ate him!

Pardon me for leaving my opinion ! Now lets see who else gangs up on me.

You know some of you people out there can be very mean to a person, it's ok to disagree with someone but not in the way some of you have been. Some of you here are just down right nasty and like to bully !

I wasn't bullying anyone or trying to be nasty to get my jollies off on someone or any other thread I post on. I was simply speaking out on how I thought, whether some of you posters thought I was right or wrong in the way I think.

that is debatable , some dogs would simply sit guard over the fallen master and just die

Obviously you didn't read more than the title, he was at deaths door and had already consumed anything edible that he could find. It is real easy to cast aspersions on a person from your easy chair, when you can raid the fridge and gorge yourself. He did not have the luxury of your fantastic insight or your invaluable assistance, so he did what he had to do to survive. Good for him.

Even if he was dying he could have eaten anything is what I meant to say, like grass or bark, or bugs. Worms are very nutritional, he could have eaten worms raw or fried em up, made a fire. The guy is a jerk.
I am sure that if he had the necessary tools to make a fire, he would have done so and used it to signal to assist in his rescue. Too bad you weren't there to help him with all of your invaluable survival skills.

One small detail is all it takes to tip the scale when it comes to the public's perception of someone as a hero versus a villian.

He should never have mentioned eating the dog. He could have said that the dog wandered away or was drug off by the bear.

I'll bet that many of the New World and Artic explorers resorted to canibalism but never mentioned it in their memoirs afterward.
