Which one for YOU;

I know many folks don't like dwelling
on 'the end' nonetheless, it's a firm fact of
life which affects us ALL.
'sooner or later'

So...
which one for you?

Since I started the thread -

putting 'my' cards on the table here

CREMATION for me, 100%..sure -

it's cleaner: quicker: and has a definite
finality:

Cremation with a viewing before! The ashes need to go to the cemetery. No need to figure out who gets me after I die....

Cremation-no funeral-close friends and relatives at
the house to see my 2 kids scatter my ashes on the lake.
Some will float in the air to places unknown, some will settle on the water some will sink when it's
all over I'll be about everywhere.

PS: It'll be a pitch-in in more than one way.
Everyone brings a dish and enjoys the day, I'd want it that way.

No viewing, no funeral, just cremate me and dump me out somewhere. I don't care if they flush the ashes down the toilet. Done is done, dead is dead. What will I care?

some very interesting posts here;
and THANKS.

I'd wish my ashes would be carried
by scented winds .. in gentle sunlight
on a bright & breezy day..
to rest..

where they will.

I want my ashes to be jammed into a pepper shaker and placed on my ex's dinner table - that way I can always say that she can "EAT ME!!!"

Ha ha & LOL!

reminds me of a similar joke I heard -

where a hubby&wife owned.. and ran a PUB..
she did all the work..

When he died,
she had him cremated..
had his ashes put into an egg timer..
which she used at the countdown to closing time..
every night...

when asked why
she said..>

'The B**T**D never worked a day in his life..
so, he can make up for it now'(:

The idea of an undertaker working over my body is repellant - and even in death, I'm sure I'd not want my personal space invaded - so unless I can get a quick burial without all the preserving crap, I'd have to go with fire. On a boat - the way the Vikings do.

good god thats brilliant!
secondly, in regards to your wishes.- very nice...god bless our troops...

K- the older I get the more creamation looks like the right thing.. with a very short n sweet memorial and goodbye. I am not a social person, cant stand the thot of folks standing and staring at me and saying,,,ooo she looks sooo good....besides. I sleep on my stomache..
so yea, creamate me, and put me out with the Tuesday trash.. but keep my memories..and mememtos...pics..etc.

I'll be dead so it won't matter but I would prefer my ashes scattered over running water.

EULOGY

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
Since I have died no more to wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take

I ask my family not to grieve
For you all know I do believe
So now I'm getting the rest I need
For the journey ahead at full speed

Life on earth has been short and sweet
Now to my Savior I go to meet
He knows all the things I didn't say
He'll fill your hearts while I'm away

Trust in the Lord each and every day
and He'll fill your lives the same way
as He did mine during my short stay
with family and friends for whom I pray

My death is not a loss it's a beginning
We know that life in Christ is never ending
So sooner or later which ever the case
We'll all be together in a much better place.

I say creamation as well. I will not grow if planted and why buy space you can't enjoy but still have to maintain. You can't put things up that will stay because some one will come along and take them, so just be set free on the wind.
My soul will be going to where ever it goes, So why make a fuss over it.
People are much to busy to visit. Maybe a plack on a memorial wall that said I came, saw enjoyed and have gone for better and bigger things in the Universe.

I think our memories of past loved ones are what's inside us, or pictures, songs, things that we say and do that remind us of them. I felt guilty when I visited my moms grave because I just don't feel like I think I should, make sense? I've only been there twice. Staring at the spot where she is buried just doesn't make me feel anything, but a song, or a memory, pictures, that's how I greave.
My preference is to be cremated when I die. I will live in my families hearts and memories as my past loved ones do with me.
I'll leave the decision of where to spread my ashes up to them....
This kind of puts a lump in my throat....you just never know, you know?

leaving the decision of where to spread ur ashes may not be a decision ur loved ones want to make.
when we told our daughter to decide, it turned out she was completely overwhelmed by it and asked us to tell her exactly what we would want done.
so far we've still not figured that out either, what exactly do u do when there is no burial plot or specific plans. whats legal and whats not. its definitely something that needs to be looked into, and sooner rather than later.
the decision is more a burden than i had thought about..

but my husband has it all figured out! he told her to use his ashes as traction under the tires when an ice storm hits. lol
and she told him she'll do just that - just for being a smartazz.
lol - aint love grand. lol

Cremation. I want my ashes divied up amongst those closest to me. They have jewelery, now, that serve as cremains' holders. I want each of them to have a piece of my body to carry wiith them, just as I carry a part of each of them in my soul.
