He never lived in the house in Tucson you are referring to. And as for the animals, he was a hunter all his life. During that long of a period any hunter would have accumulated game. He could not afford to go on expensive hunts, but wealthy people did invite him on occasion to hunt with them. God Bless You, |

Are you a Christian? If not, it doesn't really matter what you do because your existence is only temporary. As Paul said "If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die" (I Corinthians 15:32.) If you are a Christian, you should sincerely seek the will of the Lord by reading your Bible and praying. If you are a Christian but don't care what Christ said in His Word, then I pity you. |

Google Tennessee property data. That will take you to the State of Tennessee Web site. Click property assessment link. At the top of the page will be a block that has all the counties, click the box and scroll to Carter County. After selecting Carter County type in Reagan under the owner. After that scroll to the bottom and there will be several different search options. Make sure you select owner as the search criteria and bam! The pastor's real estate tax assessment is shown. The tax assessment which was in 2011 was $592,000.00. This tax assessment was conducted in 2011 so when inflation is taken into consideration along with the 3 percent increase in real estate prices over the past two years the value should be a little over $600,000.00. This is all per the State Of Tennessee by means of the Tennessee open records law "sunshine law." So perhaps the $600,000.00 was a bit exaggerated but only by $8,000.00. This is a complete shame that a preacher is living like a rock and roll or rap star. I would imagine that Jesus and his apostles would be ashamed. There are too many starving children in the Tricities for a pastor to be bringing home this kind of money. He should have taken better care of the poor kids in Carter County. In my line of work I encounter numerous people who work hard and barely put food on the table without government assistance. They are too proud to take something that is not earned yet we have a pastor living like the one percent. How can the good Lord let this happen? How can this be? Please God help this preacher see the way. Give him the guidance to see the pain and suffering in people's lives. He is in a position to really, I mean really do some wonderful things in our community. |

According to tnrealestate dot com this property was bought on May 2, 2005 for $19,000. I don't understand how it can go from $19,000 to $592,000 in 6 years. Something isn't right. |

If you build a very expensive house on a $19,000 lot, your tax status would reflect that. Gosh, you really do think people are dumb! |

That is your problem you do not pay attention to details. Google Tennessee property data. Then proceed with the man's instructions. Yes it does make sense because the lot was bought for $19,000.00. The preacher then built his mansion on the property. You can even Google Street View with the address. Are you trying to downplay this man's wealth. All of the parishioners should be proud of their pastor's wealth. They have earned it. |

I'm not downplaying it. I just don't know how it got there. I have heard there are some high end construction workers that go up there. I haven't heard anything about them building a house for him. Maybe they donated their skills and abilities so he could have a house to live in. I'm not even saying the value hasn't increased. I just do not know how the value increased, or how much money he put towards the increased value of the property. Since I don't know I would only be guessing just like you. He could be as poor as Job's turkey, and had all the material and labor donated, but I doubt it. He's probably not smart enough to put such valuable things in a trust so they would be hidden from the eyes of the critics like Dave Ramsey does. He owns all kinds of valuable property all over the place that he obtained by "helping" the poor; however, you can't find his name on everything he owns. I guess he can afford those high caliber tax lawyers and real estate advisers. Anyway, do you know about those tax laws? If that was his primary residence for 2 of the past 5 years, he can sell it and keep all the surplus tax free (up to $500,000.) You'll have to take that one up with ole uncle Sam as well. And to top it off, according to the tax laws he could do it every two years tax free. Not trying to rub salt in your wounds — only stating the facts. I do know someone was telling me about their priest only making somewhere around $14k or $12k a year so his church wouldn't have to pay any income tax on his salary. However, he said the priest drove any new car he wanted to drive from his parishioners car lot, lived in a high class mansion for free, had all his meals paid for, and went on any vacation he wanted to go to free of charge. He didn't have to spend a dime of his own money even though he lived pretty well. So just because someone has things looking right on paper doesn't mean everything is as you think it is. Something to ponder, |

Good thing they haven't appealed the freedom of religion in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution yet. Some people hate Christians so much that they would kill every last one of us. |
