Jesse Jackson called Jews "Hymies", and referred to New York City as "Hymietown."
When confronted with his bastard baby, he only replied that he also was a victim of the same, more or less laying the excuse of being black as an excuse.
Sharpton spearheaded the Tawana Brauley (spelling) case in New York and relentlessly pursued what later turned out to be false accusations against a white police officer. Sharpton was successfully sued for slander and eventually paid a large judgment. Sharpton has never apologized for this either.
MSNBC host Reverend Al Sharpton invoked race over 200 times last year, according to a new tally by the conservative Media Research Center.
These are only brief examples, but it seems to me that as “reverends” the never quote the Bible or have any interest in it.
To each of your points:

1-While despicable, Jesse's outburst about "Hymies" was not racist.
2- Your referring to Jackson's out-of-wedlock baby as a "bastard" shows more about your bias than his. Your suggestion that Jackson blamed his "blackness" is completely false.
3-Tawana Brawley, age 15, was found in a garbage bag, covered with feces, her clothes torn, with slurs written all over her body. Her story about being raped by six white guys, seemed believable, and Sharpton rushed to her defense. Although her story was not accepted by the grand jury, where is the racism in that?
4-The Media Research Center says Sharpton invoked race over 200 times last year. That is misleading to say the least. No one denies that Sharpton deals with issues of race, and it is no surprise that he would frequently use the word. The Media Research Center is clearly trying to suggest that there is more to it than that. That is a salacious attack without the slightest substance.

All in all, I believe that you have not made your case of racism in a single instance.

Say, why do we all run over there right now and discuss this matter
with the man himself since these folks seem to have gone so far off topic.

Oh, I see, since JJ's outburst was offensive to Jews it isn't racist, since only blacks can claim that? And for his "baby", didn't he insinuate that as a black man, it was just bound to happen, since whitey had him in such a bad way, suggesting a big cultural gap? Does a real reverend have a mistress and qualify as a "baby daddy"?
Now had the little victim in Sharptons case been white, would he go apeshit pointing fingers at cops? Sharpton does not only "deal" with racism, he makes his living off igniting every story with it.
While these agitators call themselves reverends they are the racist ones.
I don't consider them (or Farrakhan) as REAL reverends, yet they have the corner on news and only further racial discord with their antics.
And you are worried about a local yokel preacher.

Well,*we* have now (I didn't know about this guy until Anorak/topix).
to this reply and the one you made to Wolf-man below:
What you're writing signifies nothing to your assertions made in the previous post. You're not a captive audience UNLESS your TV reception and control systems are locked into BET, and your internet access is 'stuck' on Sharpton and Jackson articles.
In that case, pull the plug of the devices (or the power strip/surge protector) from the wall socket.
If you consider Topix as a mainstay in the media, more power to you. I never heard the "big news" about " Fuzzy Holes" or "bad neighbors" until Topix! Next time you watch the news on your TV, keep the remote handy because you will soon have to flip the channel to avoid JJ and Sharpy.

I don't give a rat's patootie about any "reverend" credentials for Sharpton or Jackson. If fact I consider throwing a god into this mess to be a weakness.
Sharpton has spoken up in defense of white people (including gays), although his fight for many years has been against white racism toward blacks.
With Farrakhan, whether or not he is a reverend is of no consequence to me, but I think he is a nut, and nuts come in all colors.

What bothers me about this "local yokel" preacher is how he combines his abhorrent racism with false Christianity. It seems one can make Christianity mean anything one wants it to mean. If anyone should be stripped of any religious credentials it is this piece of human waste.
Whatever their flaws, both Jackson and Sharpton have fought for causes I believe in, causes that seek to eliminate racism. Their voices have been imperfect but necessary. By contrast, Donny Reagan's voice strains the first amendment to its limits.

As to who has the corner on news, I give you Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, etc., none of whom are reverends, and all of whom spout poison to Americans.

You trying to turn this into a farce?

It seems Anorak is the original source for this news. I've seen Anorak articles linked in other news media on-line websites. Topix "grabs" links from news sources, and they often link Anorak stuff. The mainstream TV and newspaper sites include weird, odd, or offbeat news. What topix links (not topix) IS the mainstay, be it mainstream or off-beat/weird. Of course, there are news sources off the mainstream that are deemed serious. Some might consider them wacky.

Anorak notes the church website, a blog, and CDs. Someone on staff must have been curious enough to check them out. I've read some of the Elizabethton forum. Seems like there is a difference of opinion about the congregation being wholly voluntary or pressured into being a captive audience. Group dynamics can be a dicey thing.

That was YOUR point originally: Pastor;'s flock assembled voluntarily while the American viewing public were forced to view Jackson and Sharpton. All a complete crock.

These guys are hardly ever on the news programs I watch [no cable/ local and national, and PBS News Hour ** the REAL fair and balanced news program **]. I'm not a 24/7 news zombie.

I don't have the heritage baggage of considering these kind of folk [Jackson and Sharpton] "agitators" that overturned or threatened my "way of life". I voted for Jackson in his mid-80s primary campaign for President. Why not, considering the alternative? In the mid-70s, I helped re-elect a Republican governor in my state. He earned that vote. After seeing Richard Lugar's record and accomplishments for a couple of terms, I started helping re-elect him as Senator for Indiana. He earned those votes as well.

What did you do before this racist preacher's sermon went viral? It has pretty much consumed you! You have made it your mission to defend this church, it's preacher and this prophet. Do you really think you have changed anyone's mind about this whole mess?

That didn't work. The link was too long, so I followed up with the post right under it.

By the way Topix "discussions" are conducted, I don't think there'll be any discussing. Just a bunch of people calling him bad names. And when I was a small child momma taught us not to call people bad names. Now people call that "discussing"? It might be cussing, but I don't think the dis belongs in front of it.

You say JJ and Sharpy are fighting to end racism? Good night, don't you see reverse racism is what has been floating their boats? I recall Martin Luther King's summary of JJ. He considered him a boot licking opportunist sucking up for his own notoriety. Remember when King was shot, JJ went everywhere for days with his blood stained shirt as a media opportunity?
I don't really recall any defense of white people by Sharpy, other than the gays. That tells me he's all in for anything that goes against the accepted opinions of Americans, only catering to the militant blacks he feeds off of or the minority gays who will cling to anything that supports them. Most blacks have him figured out as a charlatan.
But I am guilty of getting off topic and apologize. I think it has been established that Reagan is a nut case, but the whole story has been blown out of proportion. I imagine he's happier than a pig in slop for the exposure he is getting. You know the old saying "any publicity, bad or good is good publicity"! Here we have this local yokel up in Happy Valley, Tn making news.
He's running with the big dogs now!
