I don't know if I've seen that one, but I remember the Syfy channel's multi-part version was excellent.(A rarity for some of that early SyFy channel stuff)

I was thinking the same thing.

I think they could have done a better job with the movie. Not so much the special effects. For 1984 they were okay ... not star wars great, but okay. I will have to try to watch the one you referred to and compare them.
