Bad idea, he'll learn it is okay to chew up shoes :) Time to go toy shopping for him. Beth writes : Always Wary , you are so right ! Opps !
Here's an idea for teething puppies: Mix up some beef bullion and freeze it into ice cubes. Before giving him one to gnaw on, smear a tiny dab of oral jell on one side of the cube. Keep him off the carpet or out side while he's munching on them. Raw hide chews are great for teether's but can be a bit rough on puppy gums. They also don't have much flavor. I've used pig ears with our big dogs years ago. They sell big bags of pig ears at Sam's Club and you can sometimes find them at Wal-mart. :-)
Listening to the TV in the background reading through the post on this page and working myself up to taking that Pack of mine out for the last walk of the day... and what a beautiful day it was... @}-'--,---
Hey Beth... I give the pack rawhide chews everyday and as a special treat I give them the Beef flavored kind.. When Josie was teething she would chew anything she could so I had to break her of that quick.. If you soak the rawhide in hot water for a few minutes it will soften up.. Being a German Shepherd, Josie is a hard mouth and they can chew their way through anything... I've had to take rocks away from her.. I know you said Lucky is a Lab and they are considered soft mouths so their jaws are not as strong and it might be easier for him if you soften the chew up a little bit... I hope that you are having a great night and I hope that the rain missed you today... Sending You and Yours all my best... ((Love-n-Hugs)) @}-'--,---
