Quiex Super Vinyl Profile is a proprietary method of Classic Records for pressing records. It is supposed to give a very high audio quality. They are pressed on 200-gram records which is heavy and gives stability and durability to the LP. The album jackets are exactly like the original releases....complete with all the inserts and even no bar codes.
I was lucky to get a complete Quiex SVP Zeppelin collection back when they only cost $50 for the single albums. Now they go for around $200 each on ebay.
The other stuff is my turntable system...Dual 1264 turntable into a Pioneer SX-3800 phono power amp, the tube pre to warm the signal, the ADC Equalizer, and the the Harman Kardon audio receiver.
Interesting, you have quite a collection ! I will save this information and keep it in mind when I buy a new stereo.

I am always weary about buying cd's that have been recorded from the original recordings, but I'm thinking the older stuff like from the 60's you can't get around it ? I hear cracks and pops and hisses.

lol just to be clear it is "kiss the sky". But many hear it as "kiss this guy" :)
Now if someone can tell me the lyrics to the closing theme for WKRP in Cincinnati I could die a fulfilled human being.
Kiss this guy - I would never have thought that. I only watched WKRP a few times, so I don't even remember the closing theme to that song.

LOL. I agree about the albums btw. I may have those also. I have 3 diff. peoples collections actually, still trying to put in order, many were studio copies sent to record stations, most of R&R was my bro's from late 60's through early 80's.

They are re-releasing many classic albums like The Eagles, Grateful Dead, The Beatles etc on new 180- gram vinyl. They don't cost much more than a CD and if you have a decent record player the sound quality in MUCH better. The new Beatles vinyl albums are the only way to hear them with 24-bit 96Khz quality. Go on amazon and search for music and filter by format (vinyl).

Be warned that playing and keeping records requires much more patience and maintenance than CDs or digital files. You must keep the records and the player clean and free of all dust. A slight ding on the record will cause a click or a pop or a skip or all 3.

If you want to get started, try to find a used Dual turntable from the 70s or 80s. They were made in Germany and are considered among the best turntables ever made for the money you will spend. My Dual was made in 1980 and cost $280 new back then, which is about $750 today. However I paid 50 bucks for it and they are easy to acquire on ebay. Of course a new stylus for it costs at least 60 bucks and I had to do a couple of small repairs to get it fully functional. But a new modern audiophile turntable will cost at least $500 without any auto functions.

Turntables like that also require knowledge of how to properly level the turntable, balance the tone arm, set the weight according to the cartridge you are using, and anti-skating.

A great place for info is audiokarma.org
