This album (and particularly this song) got a lot of airplay in my house. I wasn't as fond of their follow-ups however.

Boy, who knew a Marvin Gaye song/video could be such a downer?
Yeah I, unintendedly, went a little dark with that selection...I apologize.

Apparently that whole Syrian thing is weighing a bit more heavily on my mind than what I was consciously aware of, subconsciously influencing my selection as a result.

It was my intention only to question 'what's going on' with these so-called artists when they sacrifice artistic ingenuity, originality and creativity in favor of plagiary, kinda implying a lack of imagination on the artist's part, not to mention besmirching their integrity as an artist (though this IS Robin Thicke we're talking about, so...).

Here, allow me to change the mood up with something lighter:

Great tune! I thought I was one of the only people that knew that song! When I'd smoke, I often had to ask myself, "Are You A Man?"LOL

I thought The Cult, like so many bands, got better and progresed as they moved forward. I don't know if it's because it was their first album I heard or not, but I will admit, I listened to Electric through and through more than any of their others.

Last one, then I got to run.:) I think this was off the album just before. Although this version sounds a little different, slower maybe? Still cool!

In 1981 (or was it 82?) I was 18, first year of college and my best friend and I would drive from party to party in his old primer black 51 Chevy pickup listening to this, the B52s, the Clash, Judas Priest, BoomTown Rats (does anyone remember them?) and a bunch of others. Great times and great transitional music.

Here's another we played often from the era:
