More than often ...the hired background vocalists make the song happen. Magically.

Another Example..........oh what a voice she has.

But believe you me they still love each other. After their seperation both lived on Martha's Vineyard where Carly still lives. He wrote a song about that with an great vocalist doing harmonies.

And.......I would be remiss to not add a Joni song.
What a unique voice her colors added to the late 60s on as a Canadian Folk artist.

Her voice is haunting...for with the lyrics she sings real.

That is a very rare combination.

One of my favorite 'flavorful' guitar players is Larry Carlton...who was a hired study musician for Steely Dan..( they often had others play with them) and did this brilliant 'happy' spontaneous guitar solo....

Ever heard of Larry Carlton? Not as likely as you have Steely Dan.

Yep, I was once married to a bass guitar player in a rock band. I traveled with the band, did some vocals, ran lights and sound system. The gigs were a lot of fun. I couldn't trust the guy as far as I could throw him... lol. I finally decided it wasn't worth the pain so I walked.

Fame sucks. make that popularity does to.

When a poet rises who has a voice the people hear....or a songs lyrics resonate to the people or from promotion popularity ensues....
it is one in the same.

Poets and Authors are "Leveled' when they become popular with the masses by the powers that be not wanting any competition on the message. So? They bestow upon them accolades such as Noble Prizes.
This in turn 'levels them' makes them a popularity..along with the intrusions of the press and book signings that go along with it.

In a poetic sense. Most poets do not become famous.....until they are safely dead.
really.

haha.........I'm prone to doing it again.

over and over again. but why?
because I believe I had it right to begin with. "THEY' those contrary gnomes who insist their right is superior to mine disagree.

So buttin heads continues........in an ever spiraling out of control conundrum of who was right....and who was wrong.

That given as a premise...I won't back down. And I expect they won't either.

Yessssss, it's a great song. I agree!!
The song "You're So Vain" was not written for Warren Beatty. Who the song was about has never been revealed.

"Simon has never publicly admitted who the song is about."
