If 3 million out of a nation of 315 million are watching Fox and slightly less are watching MSNBC, and less are looking at CNN that is still a minuscule amount of viewers.
It's not that hard to see through the BS. I like to joke that I get my Foxnews from Stewart and Colbert and I do, but, I also get my Foxnews from folks here, folks who can't think for themselves. Fox can apologize and correct themselves all day long. Their fans will ignore that and run with what they were told in the first place, what they wanted to believe anyway. That's the way it is for the 1% that feeds off of Fox. Ironic that- 1%! Too funny!

Oh, hell no. I am not saying I think we shouldn't have laws. It is absolutely necessary to set standards for behavior and back those standards up with enforcements. I am just trying to point out the flaw in thinking it is the actual law itself that keeps people from committing crime. I dont break laws because that isn't who I am. Criminals dont follow laws because that's who they are. Neither of us is influenced one iota by the actual law itself. Without laws, though, we would have chaos because there would be no standard for behavior and no authority to punish those who break laws.
Here is a good gun law I approve of. You rob a store and you use a gun an extra 15 years with no parole

INFO:

After a decision by the Supreme Court affirming the right of individuals to own guns, then-Chicago Mayor Richard Daley sarcastically said, "Then why don't we do away with the court system and go back to the Old West, you have a gun and I have a gun and we'll settle it in the streets?"

Yet this is all based on a widely shared misunderstanding of the Wild West. Frontier towns -- places like Tombstone, Deadwood, and Dodge -- actually had the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation.

In fact, many of those same cities have far less burdensome gun control today then they did back in the 1800s.

And Chicago with it's restrictive gun control laws had 500 murders last year. The right to carry at least gives you a chance at self defense

Well put. But FOX has slipped from it's number one spot and MSNBC now reigns as number one. Guess more and more people are disgusted with FOX and the lies they tell..then you have the die hard racists who just LOVE the lies and misinformation if it puts down those other than their white man born again evangelical side.

already a law ...

Robbery accompanied with another participant, use or threatened use of a weapon, or serious injury to a victim will usually increase the seriousness of the robbery offense charged. Degrees of robbery are defined by each state's laws. Laws vary by state, so local law should be consulted to determine the law applicable in your area.

Quite true:

In Washington DC carrying a firearm is prohibited. You can have one registered in your home, but that's it. Using the logic that gun laws prevent gun crime one should be able to conclude that there is no gun crime in Washington DC. If, however, you look at crime maps however for WDC, you will, shockingly, find gun crimes. What's up with that? Don't people know that's against the law? Someone should go there and tell them they are breaking the law. That'll stop em.

How about registering all hand guns so we know who should get one and then very FEW stores are robbed and clerks killed. Got a hint for you on this gun control issue...think "Pro-Life"...;)

I agree on the who. The who is a person that is not a felon and does not have a history of mental illness. Texas has a Shall issue guide line. The State must issue if you meet the guide lines. We have 500,000 with carry permits. Many people I know and work with have a permit

I watched a lot of MSNBC up until the election. There is no question I prefer what their personalities have to say about most anything. They aren't selling fear and gold like Fox is. There is A LOT to be said for that! I think some Fox viewers got tired of absolutely EVERYTHING being "the fault" of Obama/democrats. After awhile, only the dumbest of people can't see through that and stay believers.

There is a reason the GOP lost the election and why Fox is losing viewers: People aren't buying their crap like they used to.

A locally elected mayor and 13-member council have governed the District since 1973; however, the Congress maintains supreme authority over the city and may overturn local laws.

That would imply that someone who robs a store would A. Register a gun B. Use a registered gun to rob a store. You are aware that if someone will rob a store with a weapon they are probably willing to bend the law a little to use an unregistered hand gun or use a knife or something else. I saw a news clip one time where a guy used a giant snake to rob a store.
