You can hunt small game with supervision at age 12 in NY, but you may not buy ammunition anywhere, until you are 18 for rifle/shotgun and 21 for pistol. Creekside is out of business. The NYS DEC website has all the hunting and fishing regulations spelled out very clearly.

Actually not in the state of Wisconsin. You must be 18 years of age for a long gun and 21 years of age to purchase a handgun, both from licensed sellers. I checked the internet and it's pretty much a federal law honored by most states. Some states allow handgun sales from private parties to 18-year olds.

Ten rounds possibly. You can reload an M1 in a second. Sustained combat the M1 would give you a decisive advantage.

The reload on the Enfield is five round stripper clips, you need two for every reload. The M1 is an 8 round enbloc. Big advantage there. Faster to reload and semi-automatic.

Don’t think I’m not found of bolt action rifles. The Enfield is probably the finest bolt action ever produced. I would go so far to say it’s better than the K98. I own a K98 as well.
