My information came directly from a close relative who is a LEO. I have more than one of those. I also decided on a career change at one point and was very close to a degree in criminal justice but decided to stay in my current field instead. Btw, I am also married to a federally licensed firearm dealer who is also a gunsmith. I have also worked in a lawyer's office and a state psychiatric facility on an acute intake unit. And a few other places. My current job requires my fingerprints to be on file with the state, and my job takes me into some of the worst, poorest places in Houston for months at a time at all hours of the day and night. I have personally been in this current bad area for over six months. There are other companies in fields closely related to mine that do not allow their employees to come where I am without several employees, only at specific hours, and only with permission from higher authority in another state.
There.

Your choice. Remain with the liars or become an AMerican and know what it going on with the government.
Theyíve all been caught in lies. Thatís what you donít understand.

MSNBC lies far more frequently than most.

Well put. But FOX has slipped from it's number one spot and MSNBC now reigns as number one. Guess more and more people are disgusted with FOX and the lies they tell..then you have the die hard racists who just LOVE the lies and misinformation if it puts down those other than their white man born again evangelical side.
Yes, bring racism into the equation to bolster youíre ill-informed opinion.

Create another law and everything will be OK. That thinking doesnít work.

Incidents involving a firearm represented 7% of the 5.1 million violent crimes of rape and sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated and simple assault in 2008. Source: http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/guns.cfm

According to the 1997 Survey of State Prison Inmates, among those possessing a gun, the source of the gun was from -

a flea market or gun show for fewer than 2%
a retail store or pawnshop for about 12%
family, friends, a street buy, or an illegal source for 80%
Same source

Harassing law abiding citizens doesnít decrease crime.

<quoted text>I watched a lot of MSNBC up until the election. There is no question I prefer what their personalities have to say about most anything. They aren't selling fear and gold like Fox is. There is A LOT to be said for that! I think some Fox viewers got tired of absolutely EVERYTHING being "the fault" of Obama/democrats. After awhile, only the dumbest of people can't see through that and stay believers.
There is a reason the GOP lost the election and why Fox is losing viewers: People aren't buying their crap like they used to.
You watch a lot of MSNBC explains a lot. You may not be a liar, youíre just misinformed. Damn, that would qualify for a liberal statement.

Again, you're talking. Proof of what you're saying. It's a fairly simple concept for anyone with a high school education.
Proof of which? The fact Chicago had 500 murders last year? Or proof owning a firearm gives you a chance?

500 murders

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-12-28...

self-defense Ė there are many stories but this one is a perfect example.

http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/mother-of-...

Anyone paying attention would know about the 500 murders and the Georgia mom. Did you finish high school? Is your head buried in your ass?

Proof?

As much as gun control advocates might wish otherwise, their attacks are running out of ammo. With private firearm ownership at an all-time high and violent crime rates plunging, none of the scary scenarios they advanced have materialized. Source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2012/02...

Repeating the same lie to yourself doesnít make it true. Whatís your proof registration would reduce crime?

Two years ago the state of Florida rewrote preemption laws. Those laws prohibited any local municipality from passing stricter gun control than the state. The liberals cried the streets will run red with blood, never happened.

Florida adopted concealed carry for law abiding citizens, as a result crime fell 41%. To date only 0.002% of permits have been revoked. Commit a crime and your permit is subject to revocation.

Breaking into homes for guns? You've defeated your own side of the discussion if guns in the home don't deter breakins. Ever heard of a gun safe?
If you BUY a gun, the seller must REGISTER the gun. Why would a felon be required to register a gun AFTER he buys it?
And yet, if a felon went to a gun show and found a gun he wanted, and the seller didn't have to verify identification and register the gun with a background check that could take two days, how would the felon GET a gun when it showed said person was a felon?
Talk about lacking thought process.
The 1994 ban was completely ineffective. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2004/aug/...

Do you assume most weapons used in crime are obtained from gun shows? How do you manage the more than 300 million firearms in circulation today?

You lack thought process. You believe a law will prevent crime. Doesnít work that way. Laws only provide a means to punish.

Wrong again. If someone is in the business of selling firearms they must obtain an FFL. Dealers at gun shows MUST run a background check. It doesnít take two days. I purchased a pistol and a rifle Saturday. Background check was done in just a couple of minutes. Pistol is awesome, Colt 1911 manufactured in 1918.

How many gun owners do you know? Unless I know someone very well I wonít sell them a firearm unless they have a current CCW or FFL. Anyone knowingly selling firearms to anyone unqualified to own a firearm is committing a felony.

Where? Federal law requires an instant background check on all sales of modern firearms from licensed dealers.

There is an exception for valid CCW holders. When I resided in Georgia I wasnít subjected to the background check due to my CCW.

Here in Florida itís different. Iím subjected to a background check for all sales. Iíve heard two reasons and need to investigate the real reason. One is the fact our permits are issued by the Department of Agriculture. The other Iíve heard is if the state doesnít complete a background check within the 120 day limit the permit is automatically issued. This needs to be corrected.

<quoted text>You need one for a pistol but a long gun is a question of filling out a form and swearing your statements are true. Dealers can sell their personal gun without any background check. You can sell your guns by running an ad in the paper too
Youíre in a very gray area now. Dealers are subjected to strict rules. If they sell it inside their store or at a gun show theyíre placing their FFL at great risk.

I spent nearly every Saturday for years helping a friend at a gun store while I lived in Georgia. Iíve sold thousands of firearms. Iíve purchased hundreds and Iíve sold out of my personal collection. If I sold anything from my collection to a customer at the store I would always do a proper transfer on the books.

ALL sales of modern firearms required a background check at the store. Pistols and rifles alike, unless the purchaser had a valid Georgia CCW and drivers license. Today when I travel to that store in Georgia I can purchase rifles their but must pass the background check despite the fact I have both a Florida and Georgia CCW. I no longer have a Georgia driversí license. Pistols must be shipped to a FFL in Florida.

I am not 100% sure, but does a dealer have to respect the CHL? Some dealers will sell to another FFL holder without a NICS check, but they are not required to forego the check. Some dealers will still do a check even on another FFL holder just to be on the safe side. I dont know if it is the same for CHL holders.
A sale to another FFL no check is required. I donít know of any dealer that will run a background check on another FFL.

The law gets more complicated dealing with CCW holders.
