You might be a redneck if you don't object to a rural upstate New York town's theme for its annual Fourth of July parade.

Some are irked by the New York town's redneck parade theme, but they live in Alabama.

Not as bad as a gay/tranny pride parade with out of shape pasty dudes in speedos and miniskirts making out. Have some pride, get in shape and tan first!

Maybe make love to a non-pay washer and dryer, the laundromats are expensive and I keep getting banned.
I'd like to see rednecks and lesbians get along better, they have common ground, they both hate sleeves and love plaid and denim.

It's going to be interesting and, perhaps, amusing to see how a bunch of damnyankees interpret the term "redneck". Many Southrons have the same reaction to being called a redneck as many Africans have to being called by the "N" word.

Sorry, I am guilty of correcting "your" spelling. "Your weird" implies that I own weird, although I suppose I do sort of own weird. "You're weird" means you are weird, which I am. "Yore" means of old, so "yore weird" maybe means old weird?
You may be right

Grammar, spelling never was never was any good at either of them. I do believe I've been corrected before. It will happen again.

Now rahx there's nothing wrong with being called a 'redneck'.
Let's examine how that name got to be.
Farmers, the salt of the earth, worked in the fields growing produce to feed their family.
honorable task
Following an Ol'mule plowing the ground or cultivating it to prepare for planting or bringing the moisture up. Something I did for 15 years.
Well being out in the sun all day you got the back of your neck sunburnt - happened to 'me' many times.
When I hear the 'word' it means I'm not afraid of hard work, I support 'my' family,(and some of the neighbors) by raising a surplus of garden commodities. "Never charged for any of it!"
So 'i' reck'n that's why 'i'm proud to be a 'redneck' hillbilly now living in Indiana!

I'm generally irked with America's apparent love affair with rednecks et al. It seems every new "reality show" that comes long is either swamped people, or Honey Boo Boo's mom, Duck Dynasty types, I guess it's just my narrowminded pet peeves.

I reck'n Jenny!
I can't handle any of them either.
They are all "production releases" for down grading America.
Sponsored by Obama Adminstration** Joe Biden chairman since
he knows the most about it.(My conception of the wrong continuation of a 'redneck'.)

HH, you are absolutely right. We take pride in being rednecks, because we know the people and what they stand for. But, as you mentioned in your second post, there are many people in this country who believe that country folk are ignorant and undereducated, which is absolutely untrue. Those people use the word as an insult, equating all country folk with the likes of Honey Boo Boo, et al. In my 63 years, I've met folk from all walks of life. With the exception of people who hate, I've found common ground with all of them. It is the ones who hate and manipulate Americans for there own political gain that make me so damn mad I could just spit.

Well, I guess I can get off my soap box now.

One last shot - I love Americans, all of them. America is not a melting pot, but a cooking pot. The different Americans, taken as a whole make a fine stew.
