My mom is also a worrier. Fearless among people but put in a car, thats a different story. My dad bought her worry beads for a cross country trip we took as kids. And she used them lol
It must be that generation.My ma never drove so she always told people she was driving with the five car lengths ahead is gonna stop and she'd grab the dash board.It must have been hell for her to drive in cars when she was so nervous.I wish i would have been more understanding back then but I was a teen punk that was invincable.Im sorry mom where ever you may be.

My mother, early 80's, still drives; behind the wheel or from the back seat lol. For her, coming to Los Angeles and having to deal with freeways was what did her in. When I drive her about, I avoid freeways, or I choose freeways on their off hours.

I'm sure wherever your mother is, she forgives you. It's what mothers do. Like worry, it's hard wired into us. I think when were young, we worry too much about what others think of us, join tribes etc. All the while pretending we don't care.

People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves. ~ Salma Hayek

I read books bad and good-some bad and good
At once: good aims not always make good books;
Well-tempered spades turn up ill-smelling soils
In digging vineyards, even: books, that prove
God's being so definitely, that man's doubt
Grows self-defined the other side the line,
Made Atheist by suggestion; moral books,
Exasperating to license; genial books,
Discounting from the human dignity;
And merry books, which set you weeping when
The sun shines,-ay, and melancholy books,
Which make you laugh that any one should weep
In this disjointed life, for one wrong more.

Sigh. Let's look at the whole quote, shall we?

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."
Barack Obama

The "you didn't build that" is in reference to everything else that helps your business to thrive. Teachers, roads, bridges, Internet.
