A thread of something someone said that you find profound or funny or expresses an idea concisely. Provide short summary why you posted it. Include an attribution (to the best of your knowledge) of who said it. The quote doesn't need to be a famous person and could even be from a Topix post! For example: "No plan of operations extends with certainty beyond the first encounter with the enemy's main strength" - Helmuth von Moltke the Elder Also known as "No battle plan survives contact with the enemy." This is true for any project plans you have - whether it's project at work or remodeling your kitchen to running routine errands as there's always something issue that crops up. And off we go!

True Humor must always lie under the Check of Reason, and it requires the Direction of the nicest Judgement, by so much the more as it indulges itself in the most boundless Freedoms. In short, it must consist in a pleasantry deriv'd from Nature, in Vivacity and Mirth without Affectation, bounded by Truth, and supported by good Sense.

Googling the whole thing isn't helping. Keeping on topic - "Pangloss deceived me cruelly when he said that all is for the best in the world." - Voltaire, Candide, Chapter 7

Keeping on topic - "Pangloss deceived me cruelly when he said that all is for the best in the world." - Voltaire, Candide, Chapter 7 oh sorry. It's in a book that focusses on caligraphy and penmanship while using ancient examples. The title of the book is "The Universal Penman" engraved by Gearge Bickham london 1743. It's the awsomest.:)
