I often thought that people became stupid over a period of time and were not born that way - that is until I joined Topix.

If you have an older sibling like I do, you've been told long ago that you're stupid, that no one is as stupid as you and you were probably just born that way, lol.
Obviously, some people are smarter then others. Also, if 2 parents aren't that smart, chances are their children won't be either, but that isn't always the case. We learn what we live. Most of us are guilty of doing something stupid at least once in our lives. Some people do it quite often. Choices - we all have them.

How many jokes and humor have been done in the name of stupidity? I remember when it was normal for women to be thought of as less intelligent then men, when anyone with blonde hair was stereotyped as dumb and that is still a popular myth to this day. Ha, well maybe there are some dumb blondes out there, but you can say that for just about anyone, whomever they may be, whatever color hair, etc. How about the 3 Stooges, Oliver and Hardy, Lewis and Costello, Gracie Allen, Chrissie from Three's Company; the movie Dumb and Dumber. Hilarious humor about people either "stupid" or acting stupid. I have never called anyone stupid though, although I've laughed or rolled my eyes at the stupid things some people do, including myself!
