I have VERY fair skin...thanks for letting me know about AZ...:)
So do I so when I go out on the river or out to the pool, I've always got sunblock on. Usually it's the kind they make for kids.

I try not to go out in the sun for too long...it doesn't take me too long to burn...it's just not worth it...:)

...we didn't have a phone. The closest one was 3 miles - at the store and it was a party line. The store keeper charged a dime to use it once.

There was also Merthiolate, which I think was supposed to be a stingless replacement Mercurochrome.
Either way you probably got several lifetimes of maximum allowed daily dosage of mercury with each cut you treated.
By the way, the other name for it was Thimerosal, which is believed to cause autism and other developmental problems in children.
So I got that goin' for me - along with total consciousness on my death bed.

My best friend had a party line, and yes we listened to their conversation.
My Mother, caught me with cigarettes in my drawer,my Sister said they were hers until she found out she had to eat them and of course squealed on me as the term was back then.

We had a girl nicknamed Goonie who lived 3 blocks away from us. My brother would steal one of our parents cigarettes (they smoked non-filtered) and would stick the fuse from a mat of firecrackers in one end, light the other and leave it on her bedroom window. By the time the firecrackers went off, we were already back home. Now it sounds kinda cruel, but when you're a kid, it was funny as heck.

I'm tucking my horns in, but then my tail pops out.

My dad was an Electrical Engineer for an Aerospace company and he used to bring us home the shipping crates and we would make our own picnic tables and benches out of them. My kids played with them when they were younger also.

Why didn't Mom just make her smoke them? They're not food.

...the Watkins man came around every six months or so. He sold flavorings and kitchen utensils. I think they still make things but don't drive around to sell them.
