Does anyone remember the purple stuff, venition violet? It wasn't Iodine or Mercurochrome. This was glow in the dark purple paint. I think it was used for worms or fungal infections.

gentian violet---commonly used for-(Wikipedia)

Marking the skin for surgery preparation and allergy testing

Tinea; e.g. Athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm

Candida albicans and related infections; e.g. thrush, yeast infections

Mouth ulcers[11]

Impetigo, used primarily before the advent of antibiotics, but still useful to persons who may be allergic to penicillin.

I bought it once 29 yrs ago when my then 1 yr old son had a sore near his nostril & doc recommended it...have the cutest pix of him & his lil purple nose...=)))

Didn't they give balloons out when you got new shoes? I seem to recall that for some reason.

Kinda' like Pay Less...

The clerks dress up like clowns and they give out balloons to the kids. At least the one in Georgia did before they closed.

That's no joke--my mother told me the same thing about Vick's.

Apparently, her mother had her eat that stuff whenever she was young and had a severe chest cold.

Man, that stuff would just make me launch anything I might have eaten..

Anyone remember Charms pops? They are big ol' lollipops in a variety of colors & flavors... they are also distinctive because the surface of them have nubs.
