I don't remember this but someone an older person was telling me the other day they had a black and white tv and apparently you could buy this piece of hard plastic that had bold colored primary colors on it and you would attach it to your tv screen somehow and it would look like you had colored tv..

Anyone know about those?

I grew up with a colored TV but the neighbor across the street had one of those thingies. It was weird looking and made me dizzy just looking at it!

That's how I learned to read along with most from my generation...now teachers have to bend over backwards, millions are spent on curriculum that gets changed often & STILL kids can't read & comprehend...in the race to keep up with other countries, we got away from the basics & education has greatly suffered...I was told a few yrs ago in my district that I couldn't fail a first grader...had to socially promote him... he entered first grade not knowing a sound & left not knowing a sound...they finally (red tape) got him into class that provided one-on-one...
Hear that. When I did sub work at my children's elementary school. I had each child read. Would go stand next to their seat as their turn came up. If they got stuck on a word..I would mouth it.

Sure am real happy all the children could read. Or I would have been blasting the fcuk out of folk in the office.

To much money spent now for to little.

Felt bad when the children moved onto middle school. They would run up to me in public and beg me to come along. I told them..I don't teach children in a group setting that are bigger than me.
Most 12/13 year old children are way bigger than I am.

I taught my babies to get the grip of speaking by going through the vowels over and over. Both mastered English rather early.

Me...am still trying to wing it! No matter how much I speak, write, whateverthefuck...I think in broken English. I tend to reverse my sentences. Makes for really good poetry. But hard to understand at times.

Hey that's racist!

How about 1 TV in the living room and having to get up to go change the channels and trying fiddle with the back of the set to stop the TV picture from rolling? lol

They're freaky to look at. They look like a magnifying glass but it on a sheet of plexi glass with a prism.
