Actually, putting your nose to the grindstone is rather painful, and therefore frowned upon.

I am not buying any of this story.

People can meet online, but then they should also and most do meet in person. For anyone to say "they have been dating someone for 3 years without meeting them is just insane"

IF this was a true story, how could he not have found time in those long 3 years to make a trip to meet this woman who he claims to love so much? Then she suddenly gets leukemia, still does not go to meet her? She dies and he does not even go to funeral? How many hours out of one day would it have taken for him to go meet her? What if it had taken 24 hrs? Did he not have 24 free hrs out of 3 years.
It makes NO sense because lies usually do not make sense. I hope the truth finally comes out in the near future

I say this is all BS and pure fiction. He is still very tight lipped in interviews. I don't believe Dr. Phil will even get the truth in this case. Katie Couric settled for BS just so she can keep her show.

There is a reality show about this exact stuff....CATFISH....about these people that get into these relationships, strictly on the net, and never meet the person they think it is, until they finally find out it isn't who they represented themselves, at all.....not as rare as one might think.....especially for a shy guy like T'eo.....i think this kid, Tuiasosopo got off on punking him....

I SO agree!

The first thing we tell kids who get on the internet is.... other people can be anything they say they are..... don't trust anyone. YET, adults are constantly saying they fell in love on the internet and "dated". WTF? I think you could get a crush or think you have interest, but I do not think you can date, fall in love, or anything else. It is absurd.

If you haven't met, nuttin is really happening. It's the internet.

Few on here are taking this story seriously, but it is a 'serious' story. A college football player from a prestigious university intentionally, in my opinion, sought to raise his profile by this sob story narrative, thereby increasing his chances of being recognized as a Heisman trophy contender.

The worse part is -- the ruse worked! The sports media were played for the inept fools which they are -- no reporter, no news organization checked on any verifiable portion of this made-up narrative. SHAMEFUL, stupid news organizations! Te'o was runner up for Heisman mostly b/c of his sob story narrative that continued to be played over and over to raise his profile. This sob story also put him in an unfair advantage in NFL rankings.

> Coach Artie agrees with you 100%! As The Coach previously stated ... Manti played (in my opinion) his "intended" sob story to the gullible, brainless sports media for "name" recognition. Z'ro had the broken hearted sportswriters and sports commentators eating out of the palm of his hands. Those media bozos took that BS story hook, line, and sinker! And, like Coach Artie said earlier, "Manti gained an unfair advantage over the other CFB players who were contending for those football awards. It's a crying shame he had to stoop to that level to win all those awards ... especially when he wasn't the best player to begin with. Every one of those awards handed to Z'ro are tarnished in Coach Artie's mind. FACT!!!
