Love is all about trust and long before the internet some people lied to others who loved them and trust was broken.

The internet is still so new and people are trying to make their way and if you never trust anyone what a sad little life you will have.

It's such a shame that people have so little trust in others that they see everthing as a lie and they never believe anyone is telling the truth.

Everything is a hoax or a conspiracy to them and everyones word is questioned.

It's sad untrusting times we live in........

Appreciate what you're saying, but the guy lied to the public, in that after he knew he'd been hoaxed, he still referred to her as a real person.
Bottom line, and not that we should care about this, but there's more to this than some kid being punked.

In this day of 24 hour news and the internet, we know way more about people that we should know. Especially people that we truly don't know other than what we see on the news or read on the web.
So here we are juding some guy that we don't know and never will. We have no idea why he did what he did. We have not walked a mile in his shoes.
If any of our lives were held up to the light of day, we would all be found wanting by the masses........

Curious to see what opinions were on this topic from a few Topix posters. As usual, some of you are not fooled by the lies, while others choose to believe that everything they hear is the honest truth while calling those less gullible jealous haters.

Read the Deadspin.com original article. If you're literate, with the intelligence of an average ten-year-old, this well-researched and well-documented article will explain why Te'o was likely in on this hoax to increase his media profile and therefore his chances for a big payoff in the NFL draft.

If Manti's participation in this hoax was to create a girlfriend to cover for homosexuality -- that would be sad on several levels. If that's the case, he'll need his real friends and family to help him deal with the aftermath.

Jealous haters. No one posted those words on this thread.

Only the people involved know the whole truth. The rest of us just read/see what the media provides.....

That's an excellent point Blue and thanks for posting it. Had not even thought of that. It's good to get others opinions without name calling or finger pointing.

There's more TRUTH waiting out there to be revealed for those who are actually seeking it. Problem is that for those who choose not to see nor believe the obvious, no amount of TRUTH will convince them otherwise.

The problem with only believing the PEOPLE involved is that the PEOPLE will lie for their own reasons. Those people are often not interested in sharing the truth, but in covering their backsides!

There are people on Offbeat with imaginary twin siblings and others buy into that so, anything is 'possible' if someone is willing to believe and is an idiot.

People often judge others by a very narrow set of rules and customs.

Bet you have some great stories you could tell about the differences.......

Maybe you can set up a Twitter account for Cheryl and send her a tweet every now and then telling her how much you miss squeezing her.
