Yeah, unfortunately, topix, and the internet in general seems to bring out the keyboard racists, homophobes, foul mouthed and zealots.
Fortunately, not all are like them.
And then I believe that some are just putting up a big tough front. Maybe if they come and join me for tea, they might see life in a little kinder way. I was always taught to lead by example.:)

I think I need to change my boots before i come in Mrs Whitewater ma'am. It looks real nice and I sure will be back with some proper shoes on. I wouldn't want to go getting your beautiful place all dirty with mud tracks.

I put some cobalt blue ones in the fountain...They make it look more real I think and give it a depth when you stare into the fountain.

I've looked all over Topix and found bars, churches (so to speak), and more fighting rinks than one can name in a day. With all of this, a quiet healing place is most definitely long over due.
I....... WILL NOT.....fight with anyone. This is not a place to argue or discuss differences. This is a place where you can read some inspirational quotes, by posters and famous people alike.
You may offer advice but it MUST come from the HEART and be delivered with GENTLENESS and UNDERSTANDING of the individuals healing need.
I would like to put this quote on the wall as a reminder for all of us.
Nice idea for a thread Mrs-Whitewater,

Thank you so much for the well wishes. As with anything, maybe they are ready an maybe they are not. Either way, I'm better for having known those who pass by here, such as yourself.:)

And I can believe it has been five years because that is when my wife and I found Topix. lol We got married that same year. It seems like just a year or so ago...not five.:)

Wow, how time changes for the seasons of our lives.

“Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love – for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment is it perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you from misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world."

Back in the 60's, there was an actor named Ed Ames who did a recorded version of that.

Could not find his version, but this is a good one too

I can imagine it, Girl Scout cookies are a good after dinner snack, no matter what you had for dinner. LOL
