I've looked all over Topix and found bars, churches (so to speak), and more fighting rinks than one can name in a day. With all of this, a quiet healing place is most definitely long over due.
I....... WILL NOT.....fight with anyone. This is not a place to argue or discuss differences. This is a place where you can read some inspirational quotes, by posters and famous people alike.
You may offer advice but it MUST come from the HEART and be delivered with GENTLENESS and UNDERSTANDING of the individuals healing need.
I would like to put this quote on the wall as a reminder for all of us.

“Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love – for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment is it perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you from misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world."

“If you believe in peace, act peacefully; if you believe in love, acting lovingly; if you believe every which way, then act every which way, that's perfectly valid - but don't go out trying to sell your beliefs to the system. You end up contradicting what you profess to believe in, and you set a bum example. If you want to change the world, change yourself."

Good thread, I hope is has more contributions than mine does.

Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.

For any who may want to know, I am from the Lakota tribe so many of my musical selections may be centered around Native American.

You will also notice that there are no straight back chairs or long tables or bright over head lights. Just the over stuffed chairs and sofas with small tables and lamps placed near. You will find boxes of tissues placed conveniently around if needed.

Each chair has it's own lap blanket because nothing heals better than swaddling. And yes, even us adults need sometimes to be wrapped up all safe and secure. We just expect someone else to do it for us because that is how we were trained.

You are welcome to sit by the fire place but please be careful of your blanket. We don't want no fires.

I have no alcohol but mineral water, iced and hot tea, coffee, cocoa, sodas and juices are always stocked full. I also keep on hand some snack crackers for upset tummies.

Well, that just about does it. Time to open the doors.

Welcome one and all!!

Bright Blessings,
Mrs Whitewater

I think most of us have native blood in our veins, especially if we have been here for multiple generations. Comanche and Cheyenne myself, as well as German, Irish, French and Scottish. A mongrel for sure. I grew up around southwestern Indians from Texas to Arizona and have studied their culture and enjoyed their music for most of my life.

I just knew there was something about you I liked. lol But I never got the chance to get to know you in the thread that I left due to how down right nasty the individuals were to my wife and I.
