The family asked me to quit making it. Actually, truth told, they asked me to quit EATING it. ;)

Truth told, I do have a pretty mean chili recipe but the fam is hooked on shrimp and grits right now. I have to make it every time shrimp goes on sale.

Every Thanksgiving I bring cornbread, but I think it's more like a pudding and there is always some debate about whether it's a desert or not.

Cornbread-

1 box of Jiffy corn mix
1 stick of butter salted, melted
1 8 oz sour cream, breakerstone is what I use
2 eggs beaten
1 can of cream of corn
1 can of whole corn (undrained)

Mix together the cans of corn, then the sour cream and butter, eggs, leave the Jiffy last. Mix it quick cause the butter will start to hard since all the rest are cold.

Butter pan, pour and must place it in a 375 oven for one hour.

toothpick test ALWAYS

LOL and noooooo, if I did it would just be very rich cornbread.

Cornbread mix, eggs, butter, cheddar cheese, onion and broccoli.

My second go to dish, for family and friends:

Broccoli slaw using Marzettis Light Slaw Dressing. It's placed in a pretty glass serving bowl and then covered in grape tomatoes and on top of that, sliced almonds. People take seconds on that dish also.

How about if we replaced the broccoli in your dishes with something similar like, oh, bacon. Yum.

Every time I make chili I get family showing up at the house with empty bowls. I don't really have a recipe and it comes out a little different each time.

EraserX, like you I have been asked a time or two not to eat it. I once made a 15 bean chili that came out great but my ex wife threatened to call Homeland Security if I made it again.
