Write something for us poets. Put something other's wrote while being respectful of our Freedom of Speech and copy write rules and regulations.

Not sure if it's completely the way I want it yet, but I'll fix it as I go along. Come on over and I'll sing it for you, while I strum my strings for you too.

Hope you enjoy.

Dear Lord wont you fill me with peace and serenity,
My pastor and the rest Lord are afraid of me.
Worked hard all my life time, little help from your family,
Oh Lord, just whatever I may need.
Dear Lord, wont you join me for a night on the town,
Ill try not to speak much no questions from me.
Worked hard all my life time with your help ONLY,
Oh, Lord, just whatever Youll have for me.
Dear Lord, Ill appreciate whatever I receive,
My lifes in your hand Lord on this I agree,
Ill pay more attention no man shall I seek,
Dear Lord, just whatever You desire for me.
Worked hard all my life-time seeking to know you
Oh Lord wont you guide me wherever I go?

Janice I think would have enjoyed this bit of touch up on her classic. RIP Ms Janice J.

He's often described as a terror.
His eyes like fire.
His presence shining through every thing you could ever hide from any other human. He's the true light. Who is worthy to speak of Him? David felt that vulnerable to the living God in a Psalm (139) to say "you have searched me and known me" and going on about how the darkness is light to God and nothing is hidden and God knew him before he was born. One thing I can think of to share is 'don't be afraid'...and that phrase has to be one of the most frequent howbeit least emphasized messages from God to all mankind. There is rest. His light is a fearsome while a good thing. Put that on the oxymoron page. He is God. Miracles begin with Him.

Dust To Dust ___[r.i.p dad]

Lonely tears falling from the sky-
some say it's rain
but i know you're crying-
Somewhere out there in the dark
somewhere out there in the sun
i know you're watching us-
Dust To Dust
Dust To Dust.

Today was beautiful
blue skies were plentyful
colored flowers in the field
seasons turning like a wheel
I wish you could see this
it's surreal-
Today was beautiful
just like you
so much love filled the room-
Dust To Dust
Dust To Dust.

You have gone but not too far
i imagine you, and there you are-
Just the way i remember
a smile from here to December.
A single tear falls from my eye
you tell me, please don't cry-
It's not forever
it's not goodbye
though you're gone i'll carry on.
If i need you i can pray
i can see you everyday
in my heart
in my mind
in a photograph
Anytime...

As the evenings are now gradually drawing in..
and we have more night than day,
there is extreme loveliness and subtle
changes around ' the darkness'

My poem .. which I named

- THERE'S MAGIC IN THE NIGHT -

"Round and round in a circle
drift
MORNING .. NOON .. and NIGHT...
while daylight hours are special
there's a 'magic' in the night ..

TIME LORDS invisibly come and go ..
arranging the right times of day .. we know ..
drawing the velvet drapes of night
against remaining daylight.

Evening bells in the distance
echo down the glen
telling the birds that flew at dawn
''It's time to come home again''

.. time to return to the forest ..
and have a little rest...

HIGH .. in leafy emerald trees
where there built their feather nests.

And ..

ALL .. across the horizon ...

a burst of fire and light

as the sun .. goes down ... and further down
inching .. out of sight

preparing the way ... at the end of day

for the deep and glorious night.

Dusky clouds rolling in from very far away..
linger with the twilight
To mark the ends of day

Seem to whisper through the tall trees-
half in shadow - half in light ..

of the wonder, the mystery ... and magic of the 'night'

A BLAZE of stars make the heavens and .. sky ..
a looking glass

for a dreamlke mirror image ...

of daisies on the grass.

At the edge of EVERY evening ...
JUST as nature planned ...

'TIME LORDS' come with the 'cloak of night'
and spread it o'er the land..

Though DAWN and NOON are precious
in varying shades of light ..

ANGELS and LOVERS have always known ...

There's magic in the night."

Thanks QuiteCrazy - I like to create. Not really feelin' it these days. I wanted others to inspire me with their POETRY. I created this thread for a man who has inspired me - though chosen to leave TOPIX for good!

Dang - I don't want him to go - the POETRY spoke to me.

I'll come up with more, I have written a good number of songs and I do play a guitar.
:))

Have a nice day.

How did you all find this place? I'm still fairly new to topix and had no idea the traveling I can do. I'd still rather do it in my car and meet and hear people in person. That's what I love to do.

LOL - thought this was the thread I started in another country. Still trying to figure out how to work this topix and the reply box as well.

DAD

I love you
I know you loved me too
I miss you Dad
My agony still feels so bad

You deserved more in life
Starting with a more loving wife
You Dad didn't abandon us
And mom should have just taken a bus

Can you still see me now
Acting, myself a bit like a cow
I'm sorry Dad
You know what kind of day I've had.

Thank you.

I found topix a few years ago while googling information... I love meeting and greeting along the beach. The wonder of strangers always facinates me. Each individual is unique.

The Bible has some Beautiful Poems. I was in it this morning and perhaps for the umpteenth time I passed right by the small book called:

/////SONG OF SOLOMON\\\\\

It's only got eight chapters in it. POEMS - words of adoration. I always shyed away from the book because I was brought up to believe... well nevermind that right now.

Point is, I decided to read some of it again and see by my notes it was June O8 when I read it through last. It's easy to forget sometimes, the older I get.

So anyways - I want to throw a bit out for you and hope you will appreciate. I'll break it up .... ahhhh ... for ratings.
:))

POEMS are great and they don't have to be considered dirty ... do they?

JUST WORDs of LIFE and LOVE/ADORATION.

Some POEMS are great and worthy of consideration...other's like here on the Topix.com ...need not be considered at all...do they?
Thanks for that and yes I full heartedly believe just that.

So... here goes with some of what SOLOMON posted years earlier.
HOLY BIBLE~~~

CHAPTER One

Words of love between the bride and her beloved.

The songs of songs, which is Solomon's.

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

To Be Continued...

At one time...I tired to read every word written...by ALL POETs here on Offbeat...now I don't and never will again. ALL those POETs and their words are and have brought me nothing but TROUBLE.
I will consider them no more.
Again AGREED. Thanks Tammie Jeanne and hey ... I like your name. Feels kinda nice to hear my as well and especially with something positive with it.

You are too kind. Now... please stop interrupting my poem.

Speak Solomon~~~~

Let him kiss me with kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

Because of the savour of thy good ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.

...to be continued ...

...

Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me: they made me the keeper of the vineyards, but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds tents.

I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
