Hi I agree & will post for the cpl. 100 others who obviously missed this & even posting a song or two for remembrance .
The history of this day is one many people don't know or it has came to mean something different I suppose & it now envelops more than one meaning.
I posted this on song of the day.

As usual, you failed to read the first post in this thread - and gleen an education. For someone who "claims" to be all knowing on military subjects, you certainly got it wrong on that one. Memmorial Day is a day of rememberance for those that lost their lives and gave it all for our freedoms. It is not to thank the living - save that for Veteran's Day or Armed Forces Day.

Any "real" veteran or fighting soldier will tell you that.

Memorial Day is for past deeds , not maybes , you have everyday you breath to honor the walking....

Something, such as a monument or holiday, intended to celebrate or honor the memory of a person or an event.

AS USUAL, I DON'T GIVE A RATS AZZ WHAT YOU THINK. For a supposed vet, you portray an excellent example of a fool.
I will thank the living every day and night and I will remember the dead every day and night.
What did you do yesterday to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice besides swill a few beers and burn a few burgers.

I don't wait for a day of the year to honor the dead.
And you can't forget to remember the living as well as
the dead.

Many soldiers are coming back in all states of
.........disrepair.(not sure if that's the right word
but it's the first one that came to mind.)
The same thing happens after every war.
