The other thing you have to ask yourself in addition to all this is "Out of all these people out of work, how many lost low paying jobs in the first place?"

Successful people lose great-paying jobs all the time - but they don't stay unemployed for very long. There is such a thing as "unemployable." I'm not saying everyone that is unemployed are unemployable - but they may be looking for something that's just not there. You have to be marketable to find a job. I just don't see a lot of folks beating down doors anymore looking for jobs - not like it once was.
