I believe that there are more than likely several intelligent posters on the site. I followed the OP's link and scored in the top 2 percentile myself.
But I don't necessarily put a lot of stock in that sort of thing.. because I've known highly educated geniuses that I'm nearly positively sure needed a keeper to survive in the real world. Basically, just a complete lack of common sense. On the other hand, I've also known people that either barely finished or didn't finish High School... that possessed common sense, and they're also extremely well grounded and incredibly easy to to talk to.
IMHO, I've seen more good than bad on this particular site. With some interesting, humorous and often entertaining people sharing their own opinions, insights and thoughts on any given subject. As long as some of those people still visit, I could really give two s%its that some other people continue to believe that Topix poster's in general are either morally deficient or intellectually challenged.
I agree!

There are several wise/intelligent folks here .

PLUS

A few misfits .. at war with themselves ...and who like to take it
out on others:

Some kind and gentle folks:

Young uns looking for 'love':) or even a date:

A few 'has been's ' myself included:)

Some trolls who are good at what they do!

Now, if Topix were a pie and those were the ingredients..

you couldn't ask for a better mix:)

IMO.

There is that perfect point in life when intelligence and wisdom meet. I have know 3 people who were scary smart. 2 were successful and the third who was probably the highest IQ was a diamond in the rough. He was a c student and had few friends. I am a big reader. One time I was talking to this guy and anything I had ever read he had also read and remembered all the details of the book so he must have read far more than I had. When the SATs came out he had the highest score in a very large high school. My IQ is 142 yet I don't spell well at all. The gifts of IQ can very so much. There is a poster on the Evolution vs Creation form who goes by Polymath. He is so gifted in math and is very good at explaining physics in a non math way.

Now that I 'know-it-all' nobody is interested in hearing it.
They have the audacity to say I'm outmoded.
But 'i' still know more than they do!

LOL My knowledge is like a Texas river. Very wide but not very deep. All my life I have had a job that allowed me to read most of the day. Until a buyer came in my time was my own. I guess I have never worked a day in my life because I enjoy what I do so much! I have sold homes since 1973 most of that time working for builders. Now I am in traditional real estate so I can go hunting and fishing any time I want. My office is my patio :)

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

person who can speak on all subject or one who knows every thing about one ... so how do we define IQ

IQ scores are used as predictors of educational achievement, special needs, job performance and income..........they are also used to study IQ distributions in populations and the correlations between IQ and other variables.......... differing patterns of increases in IQ battery sub-test scores informs current research on human intelligence.

People who ave record high IQs often have very sad lives and don't relate to other people very well. I once thought I wanted to go into law and thank God I didn't. I think I would have been miserable in that profession. I was a champion debater and had a full scholarship which I turned down to enlist in the Navy. Later when going to college and working full time I realized I was making a lot more money than the professors selling Mercedes . Sales was the best path for me

I bet you were a good judge. Were you also a prosecutor? I think to often prosecutors are more interested in winning than finding justice. Am I wrong? I know Hollywood is rather lose with the facts when they take the side of killers.

yes... courts don't have defense lawyers ...... and some cases are not even brought to court

why ???? state pays money ... Zimmerman case a good example , no charges were filed , why ........couldn't win the case

and it is a prosecutor's job to convict , not lose ..........

as a judge my job is to see that a fair trial is carried out period... then to assign prescribe sentence watched many a lawyer or prosecutor lose a case .. I can say a word ....
