No, CBS would never host a series with this name. If I were to write such episodes, it would have to be under another name, though not sure what. Plus I wonder what types of crimes they would have on an alien planet. If someone kills Purple people, would that be called a plumicide?(Though to be serious, homicide might still be the word, I saw on the Animal Channel where they had cops investigating "animal homicides." Talk about a contradiction in terms.) Plus what about other crimes, like spaceship theft?

So what would be a good plot for a space alien forensic show? I guess we could fantasize here. I doubt I could pull off enough content to be a decent single episode.

On a warm Purplonian day, Tentaclesia Xao stepped outside her tentacle grooming business for a slimerette and a copy of the Tentacle Times. Overlooking the unfamiliar green spots on the machine, she put her coins in the newspaper machine, pulled open the door, and almost grabbed for a paper. But she was horribly frightened by what she saw. On top of the newspaper were bloody tentacles. She threw down her slimerette and ran back to her shop, screaming all the way. Then she called the police.

Officer Xigon was the first on the scene. He put up crime tape as he waited for backup and for the crime lab to arrive.

Oh my! It kind of brings new meaning to this song:

Imagine if the song played in the background of one the episodes...there could be a Purplonia Ripper, and a massive media frenzy....and lots of frightened people.

The crime lab team collects the evidence around the scene and the M.E. soon joins them. Det. Xaden takes some slime samples, something that might be saliva, some drug paraphernalia nearby, and gathers up several slimerette ducts, including Tentaclesia's partially smoked slimerette. The M.E. takes the body parts from the newspaper machine along with the stained newspapers.

Back at the lab, investigators examine the evidence. SInce Tentaclesia's slimerette was among the evidence, the detectives meet with her. Detectives Xaden and Zixxy talk with her. She explains that she went out to smoke and get the news and that she threw down the slimerette, mostly unsmoked after finding a disturbing sight. The detectives look around her shop and finds discarded tentacles and take them back to the lab. She explains that they were trimmed off. They ask her if she is licensed to do that, and she says she has such a license. The detectives head back to the lab and analyze the severed tentacles found in Tentaclesia's shop.

The forensic detectives analyze the discarded tentacles found in Tentaclesia's shop. They find that they belong to a Lodenian just like the ones in the machine. However, the DNA didn't match. Running Tentaclesia's records turned up the fact that while she was licensed to groom scalp tentacles, she was not allowed to amputate them.

The detectives returned to discuss the matter further with Tentaclesia. She admitted that she did occasionally do body modifications that she was not licensed to do. So while the detectives realized the incident was unrelated to the arm tentacle parts stuffed in the machine, they did turn the evidence of their findings over to the health authorities. They also visited the Lodenian who opted for the procedure, and they were alive and healing well. So the detectives were back to ground zero.
