Having worked in the mental health field for many years;
I often wonder why patients consistently
stop taking medications that are working well for them after they become stabilized and are living a relatively normal life.
It is heartbreaking to watch them break down.
They never think the destruction and angst is from their mental illness or the discontinuation of the med's.
It's always the world, God, or other thoughtless people who are responsible for their unhappiness.
Those who love and care for them are helpless to do anything but watch the slide into mental hell they go through.
It is sad and frustrating.

I often wondered why someone would purchase cigarettes and liquor instead of their blood pressure meds and complain that they can't afford their meds. But the 5 pack of smokes a day and case of beer is not the problem???

. REBELLION... 101...and DENIAL... 101..
Am sure THESE pills THAT stabilizes them..ALSO have side effects that maybe causing health problems in addition to their mental illness. The Creator created perfect bodies...MAN created diseases caused by drugs, harmful chemicals and science experiments... WE are LAB RATS.. in the World of Mankind!! Through enhanced food additives, the air we breathe infused with industry fuels and soil contamination.... A PERFECT WORLD..Once Upon A Time...

A sad fact that alcoholism and drug abuse often
over shadows the need for basic health care.

Another danger I've witness time and again...
Patients mixing illegal drugs and/or alcohol with anti psychotics.
A deadly combination.

The reason I made the post above (btw)
is I got word a few days ago that another former
person I cared for (and Cared for deeply)
succumbed to the Tempest.:-(

It is heartbreaking, frustrating, and makes me sooo angry,
I just had to vent here in OB land;

Because no one in my immediate RW can understand
and help me deal with these emotions.
