The game pieces in that SVU episode were somewhat symbolic. There was a guy who was a rapist as a teen posing as a good family man and playing board games with his kids. So I guess the victim was literally telling the guy where he could shove his good father act.

It probably is. That looks like the corner and not the semilunar fold, though it is hard to tell. Your viewing angle is also a clue. If you were looking at about arm's length, that should be an inward angle. As you look up close, not only does the eyeball get longer to enable close vision, the eyes turn towards the nose slightly as well. About the semilunar fold, in certain animals, that is part of the nictitating membrane which functions as a third eyelid. In polar bears, that membrane protects them from photokeratitis (snowblindness, or UV damage to the cornea). In humans, sunglasses, welding glasses, etc., are the protection from that.

I'm not an eye doctor, nor do I play one online.:-)

LOL! That is a contradiction since most transgenders never become postop. Those born with transsexualism do.

It is like the song, Dr. Worm.

"They call me Dr. Worm.
I'm not a real doctor,
but I am a real worm.
(an actual worm)"

And I've read up a lot on vision before. Hey, I just wanted to understand my prescription. The sphere is the amount of overall correct, with a positive number being used to correct far-sightedness and presbyopia (inability to focus up close in people over 40), and a negative number for nearsightedness. But what gets confusing is that glasses have at least 2 other numbers.

There is also the cylinder number. It works like the sphere, but is for a limited plane of vision. If your eye is more "football" or "can" shaped, the cylinder value makes up for that. And the axis value gives the location of the cylinder power.

Now, there are two ways to give the three values. Traditionally, optometrists give negative cylinder numbers and ophthalmologists give positive cylinder numbers. So they are either notating from best to worst or worst to best, but the values mean the same. Example a a sphere of -1.5, a cylinder of -1.25, and an axis of 180 degrees would be the same as -2.75,+1.25, 90.
