it was a satirical comment<quoted text>
Odd assertion given that according to the FBI statistics knives are 5 times more deadly to Americans than than semi automatic defense rifles.
A male student went on a stabbing spree at a community college in northwest Houston on Tuesday, injuring at least 14 people, two of them critically, Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said.

More innacurate, simplistic: "if spoons are outlawed, only outlaws will have spoons" crap. Its a waste of time trying to explain firearm evolution, from bulky, innacurate, inefficient firearms our Founding Fathers knew, to today's lightweight, accurate, efficient human killing machines to NRA apologists, shills and toadies.
Gun-bots live in constant fear of a vaguely-defined, menacing, firearm-wielding bad guy / boogie man, with malice in his heart and superior firepower at his fingertips. Their brains, as they were, are wired differently from ours. They see threats everywhere, even in the current government they didn't vote for.
So repeatedly, time after time, like your average Firstgrader, needing so desperately to distract you from his latest fib, they'll swear that a box cutter or spoon will kill another guy just as efficiently as their latest adopted firearm will and hope against hope that you'll actually believe that its true.
It'd be true, only if we'd stay still long enough to be inefficiently hacked to death with a box cutter. We've gotten quite good at designing human killing machines. If the Founding Fathers, knowing the current firearm reality, were polled, they wouldn't trust John Doe with most firearms as far as they could throw him.
To all you scared Gun-bots out there. I don't expect you to understand, much less agree with this post and I wish you and yours the best. Please avoid me and mine the next time you bust a mental gasket and "defend" yourself by killing 20 more babies with that firearm which you swear you had the "right" to own.

State of the art military rifles of the day were legal then and they are not now. The Muskets held by military men were also held by citizens .Burst and full auto are not options to the public at large. But they are to military. We the people are limited to semiautomatic fire. Put simply, world war one tech.
Wow , project much ? Isn't this the very reason cited over and over again that we need to get rid of all the guns. So I guess they (the gun toting boogeymen) exist only when we need to ban guns but not when we need to keep them for defense. Talk about circular logic, I mean, damn man seriously!
No one claims that, the claim is that to save the lives of more children there are far more dangerous things in the world that are far more likely(some where around 99%)to kill our children on a daily basis. In numbers that simply dwarf the crime stats in relation to any rifle you care to cite on.
Read the FBI stats, knives kill more people than semi automatic rifles do. Fist kill more children than semi automatic rifles. It is not some arbitrary made up BS stat it is absolute and undeniable fact.
But hey marginalize the opposition with falsehoods and condescend to their mental acuity all you want if it helps you maintain that feeling of a superior intellect. It was my understanding that those tactics usually meant the exact opposite of that assertion.
Maybe you could channel Elvis for me and tell me what his thinking about all this is while your at it.
Meanwhile over 270,000,000 million plus privately-owned firearms in the US were not used in any illegal fashion, yet here you brand all those people with your despicable and vile monikers of blood thirsty maniacal child killers yet again. I don't think you could be more insulting if you tried. And you dare to expect people to understand that position.

Old Sam, doesn't matter that a knife was used. Surely guns are somehow to blame.
