So many vacant lots next to these schools & in these neighborhoods, nationwide YET we can get very low participation in any kind of community gardening projects!!!!

The victory gardens of the 40's could change this in one season!!!! What has happened to prisons growing their own food? schools ,neighborhoods can do the same.
There are clusters of projects nationwide but ,here in the midwest it is almost a total failure! I gave up locally ,after seeing such low participation. I have nothing & still managed to give a lot of time, equipment, seeds plants & for the most part was taken advantage of by people wanting something FOR FREE!!!!.
I grew 4-5 hundred 1bs. of food last summer with 30$ out put & the least labor I have ever put into a garden. Hate to think what could have happened if I would have tried. Rick

NOBODY..wants Veggies!!

They WANT Fast Food... Order, Pay, CHOW DOWN..walk away satisfied!!

I agree.tho..ALL that wasted space..Could be used for gardens.. But, then there's BIG DADDY watching everything!!

He wants a HAND in everything.. If you GIVE it away FREE..The MAN reaps NOTHING!!

That is WHY...Prisons, Schools and Non-Profit organizations DO NOT move forward with this subject.. It is because.. They RECEIVE Government Food Surpluses. So, basically their hands are tied.

Nice thought tho..

Maybe we can force everyone to buy food insurance, or face a fine. We will have the IRS administer it, add on a few thousand armed food agents. Then everyone will have access to food services.

Just make sure that the people that do the least amount of gardening get the most food......
