Why are people some people so touchy about it? Others don't care?
I've come to think of this contraption as a mish mosh of thoughts here and there with some exceptions to a few that stick out like a giant in a midget festival.

How much does it matter, gender? For example in the thread "Only Cowards with Guns hit women," does the gender matter? As is the poster more than the hitter? Does gender influence you Offbeaters perception or does the thought matter more or is it a combination?

Sometimes I think the purpose of this is purely an experimentation in ambiguity and misperception.

Or what?

We are all different in what we think about women and men, though may have similar thoughts. Our perceptions are formed by family and society in the eras and areas we we're brought up in.

Sounds great with a visual or interaction but seems like, and I stress seems, that on Offbeat gender becomes something strange. Which btw is strange, as you mentioned prior we are instantly born into it, that here sometimes it is grainy, coarse yet at the sametime unclear. I honestly think it's the pictures sometimes. Like yesterday, I saw the strangest picture, for me anyway, at first glance I thought, "What a strange man," he was burly with a hard hat that was plastered with stickers, his arms didn't look masculine but large, the face was almost masculine and not. I clicked off because it bothered me. Then there is was again, that ticked me off a bit because as much as I stared and read the label it just didn't click. Then it hit me, I really THOUGHT it was suppose to BE a man, but it was a woman!!

You've answered your own question..It matters to you.

I would agree..what you described would bother me as well.

God created man and woman for a purpose. That's the bottom line and all I know for sure. Men and women are different in their make up for that purpose.

OH! oh. Thank you.

BTW, about answering my own question. I didn't finish (burning something and had to handle it).

The picture, why the picture? Illustrators, commerical artists, graphic artists, TV... etc.. visual media is very careful about how they present any subject matter, the angle the lighting.. Why that picture? It's also becoming prevalent!

<grinning> I've got to watch my burning too..

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking? Are you asking about media or the picture you painted with your words or both?

OK. The picture on topix, it was about labor and oil. The woman, I get the gimmick but what's the point?! Yes some woman look and are manly like but as far as I recall, from reruns, the media has always represented the genders just as they were. Well at one time TV was kinda weird, you'd be living in the 1950's but watching westerns consistently yet they were obviously not comtempories, or Victoria age movies when suddenly there was a burst for Austen Novels. Then jump into the 60's, the sexual revolution was on it's steamy way and yet you had movies and shows that definately did not represent the time.
NOW, I wonder what the gig is? Purpose? I remember there were no condom commericials and so many adds on contraception as there are now. It's constant, yet why? Not to mention the drugs!? So this new oddity about gender or erasing the lines is blatant to me.
Don't you notice it?

That would depend on the intent of the artist*?* the painter of the picture..

Norman Lear said,*paraphrased* give me a generation and I will change the way people think..*w/TV*

Combine the two statements and there's your answer..

It's BoozerHillbilly's gender on his profile - I'm wondering the same thing.
