<quoted text>oh man that's terrible news, I would bet it would be cheaper for a rebuild but I really don't know a whole lot about it. I've only been driving for about 3 years.'i have heard sometimes there can be a stuck ring on one of the pistons which can cause blow by, maybe he could get away with just replacing the rings seeing how the top end seems okay. I think you can do that without removing the engine.
Best of luck to you two, just remember, it can't get much worse?
Now I'm thinking about a choice.
Pour 10k into the Pete (and have her
down for 2 weeks) or buy a newly
rebuilt International and start hauling
again tomorrow.....???

so let's see, say 10k for a rebuild, you'll probably be down for a total of 3 weeks at 500 per day, lets just round that up to 22k. Or a newly rebuilt international. I would dare to say you husbands probably pretty partial to his Peter, no pun intended,( well maybe a little ) but depending on the cost of the international, and as long as it wouldn't effect his dedicated run, I think I would keep the Pete. Maybe lease a tractor in the mean time if you have to to be sure to keep your run, or rent one.
It's a tuff decision for sure...

LMFAO

He is indeed partial to his Peter.
But I'm ahead of you on the leasing idea.
Already done.
Please let this work:)

never heard this before until a friend sent it to me, no I know you may not pray, but I think the point remains the same....

A Truck Drivers' Prayer
Truck Drivers' Prayer
Dear God above
Bless this truck I drive
And help me keep someone alive
Be my morning sight this day
On the streets where the children play
Bless my helper fast asleep
When the night is long and deep
And keep my cargo safe and sound
Through the hours big and round
Make my judgement sound as steel
Be my hands upon the wheel
Bless the traveler going past
And teach him not to go so fast
Give me strength for every trip
So I may care for what they ship
And make me mindful every mile
That life is just a little while

Amen
