How much does it cost to drug test all the truckers in this country? Maybe we shouldn't do that.
I don't know what the chemicals cost that are involved in follicle testing, but I have to think its not cost prohibitive and done by the state as opposed by a private company. Also follicle testing detects everything ... Maybe do some research instead of spouting off.
Hair follicle testing costs about $115 per.

http://drugtestsinbulk.com/judicialcourt-hair...

The states send the tests to private labs. States do not have to money or time to drug test...the labs barely have the time for real crime. Hair follicle is cost prohibitive and has flaws.

Hi Mr E..Got news for you ...you can't survive on disability. I used to volunteer at the Vet center and I saw all kinds. Most were injured in some way...mostly PTSD... and unable to find a job. Are you suggesting we let these "heroes" go hungry and homeless? Why do you think most join the military in the first place? Because they can't find a job. I don't think you took the time to actually read the articles I posted. Hummm....veterans standing on street corners begging in the "richest country in the world"...wonder how that looks to the rest of the world. Why are these people "Heroes" on one hand and beggars on the other? The "training" the military touts is BS. It does not transfer into a civilian job. Obama says he's created...What..5 million jobs? What he forgot to tell the American people is that those jobs are part time and minimum wage. You can't support yourself much less a family on that.
Hope you have a great day too!
Cheers!
As a son of a veteran of Korea, I'm a Vietnam veteran, my youngest is an Iraq war veteran. What's not to understand?

Actually, no I didn't read your articles. Mainly, because I know first hand. I took care of myself and my family, as my father did and as my son after me. We didn't need hand outs.

If the system is broke, fix it. That should take care of any that aren't getting enough. But like I said..Everyone in my family did fine without assistance. Disabled veterans should be taken care of. Agreed!

Yes they should.
To many people take advantage of the system which makes it next to impossible for the people who really need it.
Being a truck driver I am subject at any time to take, but there are also many companies that require their employees to take random drug tests also and have the right to terminate them if they are found to be using drugs.
If you are injured on your job you can and will be refused workers compensation if you are found to be using drugs.
If the working class needs to be subject to drug testing then so should people who receive benefits from my pay check. And I'm not saying that people who need certain medications, or drugs should be refused. I'm just saying people who are abusing the system and using the money to buy pot or any other drugs should be removed from the help they are receiving.
I see it every day in the town I live in and it makes me sick. And I see people who are in need of assistance made to wait until they reach rock bottom before they can get the help they need. Surely this would have to be a step in the right direction.

That was then...this is now and things have changed.

As a daughter of a WW2 vet and the mother of an Iraq war vet and after volunteering at the Vet center, I too, know first hand. You don't read the articles? No wonder you have it wrong. Why do you resist knowledge? Because it might prove your concepts wrong? Your antidotes are just that and they don't cover the whole picture. Most of the articles I posted are from military publications. Why would you not read them? No matter, I sure others like the information.

;-D

Have a good one..

I don't care what you think about my service.

You implied that I said disabled veterans should take care of themselves. The last line of post 65 should take care of it.

I just think you are a fake veteran. There's a lot of that going around Topix. Anyone who can google an MOS is a veteran on Topix. Very sad but, that's the life you chose.
