I think it's neat these guys carrying assault rifles shouldered on their backs. Kinda lets Obama and Biden know what they think about disbanding them.
1st Texas now Utah, how many other states have open carry laws?

That is a scarey and thought provoking incident. Glad to know that former police officer and his wife were not harmed, but if the men had assault rifles on them, perhaps the officer's gun wouldn't have mattered much but it apparently deterred the criminals and saved the officer and his wife's life. The point is, we need to keep assault weapons from landing into the wrong hands - criminals - thugs and murderers. How do we do that without affecting law abiding citizens right to procuring their safety? I suppose there is always going to be the risk of criminals getting access to guns, but we still need to make that much more difficult to do, if not impossible.

Well HH, now that I have given it some more thought, I wouldn't want to be empty handed should someone decide to break into my home. On the other hand, there is always the DeWalt nail gun, which can shoot a 16-D nail through a 2 X 4 at 800 yards, just in case of human invasion. It won't kill em, but hopefully send them on their miserable way - out the door. There are ways you can booby trap your home so you can have a safe night's sleep. I'm fortunate that I have a good neighborhood watch on my block. We have good quality security cameras installed as do many of my neighbors. As for guns, they're probably here to stay. I doubt that there will ever be a ban on them, at least not entirely. I can only hope and pray that most guns belong to responsible owners. Wish there was a solution to keeping them from criminals and murderers. Don't know if that will ever be possible.

Arizona has open carry but I don't think they have concealed carry. vermont is the only state that understands the constitution. It is illegal to carry a gun for an illegal purpose. I hate having to pay for a permit to exercise my right

Assault weapons are not readily available to the public. You need to pay for a $200 dollar transfer tax stamp pass numerous BATFE checks and then pay around $8000 to " the skies the limit". Not to mention it can still only be one that was manufactured before 1984. Don't let the rogue media and government fool you. Semi-automatic are not assault rifles and these bans do nothing to help public safety, they destroy it and free society.

Guess I should know better then to play cowboys and Indians with the big boys. I lose every time, lol. Reminds me of when I was little; my big brother and his buddies wouldn't think of ever parting with their guns - or their cowboy hats, lol. Some things never change.

I lived in a quiet suburb of New Jersey but most neighbours had
a gun 'under their pillow' is how It was put to me.
I oftern think had I been armed what the consequence would have been
in the following incident.
I had placed an order to be delivered from the store, and meantime
went down into the cellar (to attend to the washing machine).
I came up the cellar steps to find a complete stranger standing in my kitchen, a middle aged man. I can tell you I was startled.
His reason for walking into the house......'I came to see if you was
for real'!!!!!
Probably because of my accent.
We laughed about it then, but like I say, had I been armed.......I could
have panicked.

Is it Sweden where you have to store an assault rifle in your home by law. Also there is no crime there. Correct me if I have the wrong country.

Myself..I have no guns. If you use your hands, hold a knife, or try to fire a weapon...there is always someone faster, quicker, with an armament bigger.
