He stated he didn't know if things could ever be the same. Giving him the best advise I could I said, well, I'm not sure where I heard this, but an old saying says like a knife that cuts, the wound heals, but the scar remains. I was feeling pretty good about my advise when he looked at me and said, "dude, did you seriously just quote poison to me?" Poison being an 80s rock band, I said, ummm, ya, I guess I did. We stared at each other for a minute and them burst out laughing! Him and his wife are back together and things seem to be working out.
