To understand just how complex, scary and immediate climate change is, look no further than the case of the tiny mountain pine beetle.

Populations of this tree-eating insect have exploded over the last ten years due to warmer winters, devastating the majestic forests of western Canada and destroying over $20 billion in timber.

Now comes a frightening study published in the prestigious journal Nature that that the huge swaths of dead trees killed by the beetles are themselves emitting enormous quantities of carbon into the atmosphere as they decompose – further exacerbating our climate problems.

You need the extent of your stupid explained to you until your children and grandchildren finally lose patience with you, as happened with all; those R. Governors on marriage equality:

There forest fires before there were humans.

That does not mean forest fires today are not caused by careless humans.

Is that too difficult for you? I mean, given that you have no comprehension of causality....

Conservative wingnuts (but not all conservatives*) are worried that any restrictions on carbon in any way will function as a yoko on economic development and freedom.

*Some evangelicals, most of the Fortune 500, many ultra wealthy industrialists, all the world's large country intelligence and military services, and all the global re insurers understand perfectly well that climate change is human mediated, is occurring, and represents tremendous threats on many fronts.
