there was no jasper style lynching,or dragging like they claim,it was a tragic and horrible thing but IT WAS NOT BECAUSE OF RACE,just plain mean act of violence the victim and suspects were friends,so how the hell can be because of his color?so tell those damn panthers to take it somewhere else, they are the ones stirring up this trouble, its all bs

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family! It is what it is....yes these boys were friends but you will neverrrrr and i repeat never convince any black person that it wasnt race related! If it were 2 black boys and one white guy(splattered on the road) that were friends...you guys cant say that we as "whites" wouldnt call it a racial issue !!! It exist and it will continue. I myself and I make a difference in my own personal life to make a difference in these opinions... I love people ....unless they have no regard when it comes to people "other than their own"!!!

There is a commercial for a new "cop" show or old "cop" show, I can't remember which one, but in the commercial one guy says, "This looks like a hate crime." Then the other cop responds, "As opposed to a "like" crime?"

We can not change the minds of people. However, we can continue to remind people to hold off on judgment until all the FACTS are in.

If it were two black guys and a white guy I would not have even thought about it being racially motivated. I do not go around thinking all the time that everything anyone does is racially motivated.

I do not work like that.

One of my best friends in high school was black. He was wonderful, I could tell him anything because he never judged me and I never judged him. He was an open book to me and I was to him. Unfortunately, he moved away our Junior year and I have only spoken to him once since then.

I miss him, he could make a bad day good just by his smile. He was someone special, not because he was black, but because he was my friend.

it wouldn't have mattered whether the victim was white or black. Racial crimes or hate crimes are when someone is chosen to have a crime committed against them based solely on color. This happens unfortunately, even blacks to whites as well.

The main things here: Too much alcohol and dispute over money were the problem. Not race. This would have happened if the victim had been black, white, or purple.

Go away Panthers--you stir hatred!

A good reminder to: "keep good company" and "don't drink too much!!!" Too much alcohol can turn some people into murderers...as proven here.

Why is it no one has mentioned "drugs" being involved here. We all know these people are known druggies. How can you 100% say it was a "hate" crime. How do we know that it was not a drug deal or useage gone bad. No one but the three guys were there. We will NEVER know the "real" truth to what happened. I feel sorry for all families involved. Those boys will get the punishment they deserve. I feel extremely sorry for the children of our furture that has to witness all of this hatred for not. Things happen that we can not control, it is out of our hands. It is time to let the authorities do their job. I myself could careless what color the boys were. What happened out there was just plain wrong. No one should have died for whatever the reason was.

It sure it funny how friends of Bigboy that are white have gotten on here and the family hasn't said anything to them like what was supposedly said to the reporters of this story. Supposedly, they say that Brandon was tied up to the back of the truck and drug, but then it says they found out he was ran over by these guys because they looked at the UNDERCARRIAGE of the truck. So, which is it? As for pieces of his body still being at the crime sceen, please show me proof!!! I have YET to see a picture ANYWHERE to back this claim up! Another thing that I see as a common misconception is the fact that it wasn't 2 WHITE guys that took him out there. Shannon is white, but Mr. Crostley(sp?) is not! You can LOOK at him and tell he's not white. Come on now...find some REAL evidence that this is racially motivated and quit making stuff up!

THE KEY WORD IN THIS WHOLE DEAL IS FRIENDS,,,,YOU CANNOT BE A F-ING RACIST IF YOU ARE FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE OF A DIFFERENT SKIN COLOR!!!!YOU WANNA CALL IT VIOLENT,TOTURE OR WHAT EVER,BECAUSE THAT INDEED WAS THE CASE,BUT IT WAS NOT RACIALLY MOTIVATED.AND NO IF 2 BLACK GUYS WERE FRIENDS WITH A E GUY AND THEY KILLED THE WHITE ONE,I WOULD NOT SAY IT WAS BECAUSE OF RACE,,THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE IF THEY WERE FRIENDS.

drugs have been mentioned, but the racist blacks do not want to accept that could very well be a possibility, they want to convince the world that two white guys, who were FRIENDS,with a black guy,and had been friends with him for a long time, killed him because he was black.they just dont see how obsurd that is.they holler racism, hate crimes, and all that but in all reality, they are the racist ones here

The racial image is not created as much by the incident but more because of the way your LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT and COURTS handles it. PARIS, TX again all eyes are on YOU.

"If you take somebody out to the country like that in the middle of the night and do that to him in that way, that's how they do black people around here," said Brenda Cherry, a local activist working with McClelland's family. "To me, it smells like Jasper."

Where does Brenda Cherry get off saying "that's how they do black people around here"?? When else has anything like this happened before!!!

hello to all who post, and those who just choose to read are post. I must 1st say that only GOD and the 3 victims of this incident, know the truth. we all have assumptions of what took place. this is tragic and a very hard pill to swallow for both races. we would like to move ahead in this world but are brought back to reailty. this reality is that race still play apart in the things that go on in this world. there many ways to kill a person, and if in fact they where friends the picked the anniversary of a hate crime incident and also this happens in the same manner as the hate crime. I will leave my judgement to the man upstairs. but the laws has nothing to do with the man upstairs these days so based on a assumptions, there are many obsticle to get around. If anyone cares about the generations to come show love to eveyone even your enemy. It's not your battle its the lords. and I must say that im glad to read evryone input b/c it's your right to freedom of speech.
