Battered NJ agonizes over whether to rebuild shore

Nov 1, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: MyFoxAtlanta

In its tear of destruction, the megastorm Sandy left parts of New Jersey's beloved shore in tatters, sweeping away beaches, homes, boardwalks and amusement parks.

If Big Business,Investing, risk taking, wins with Romney?..No problem...If Obama wins?...The NJ shore will look like the disaster of NOLA!.Huge Government money...All throw into the wind..Lost,Stolen....Most of those inhabitants never came back...now on perpetual Welfare,Food stamps/Thats the Big Government way......

It takes Great Men with Big Money to rebuild,as it always was....The alliterative?? like the Socialist Chernobyl Thing.....A Total Government FUBAR

Japan is a good example...Capitalist..and they have fixed their Problem...

If there is profit to be made? No Problem...NJ will be back soon enough...If its a Government Thing RED TAPE BOONDOGGLE!...Like NOLA,and BP.

The government should provide emergency services...stabilize the situation, and then get the hell out with restrictive regulations and high taxes, and His CZARS ..Messing things up....His CZARS are the real inhibitors of growth...All they do is play the blame game.....ITS GLOBAL WARMING they sing,...and its all BS!!!

Along with NASA,and so many American things now gone under Obama...Will the "BOARD WALKS OF ATLANTIC CITY BE GONE ALSO?"

Rebuilding the shore communities? How about rescuing and aiding people in places like Hoboken New Jersey where they are still flooded out with trapped citizens, sewage in the streets and floating debris all over. People LIVE in Hoboken. People go to the shore for a vacation. To those permenant year round primary resident citizens my heart goes out to you but to all the interlopers YOU WILL HAVE TO decide and PAY if YOU want to rebuild next to the ocean.

Is a good point now that some people are waking up to the reality the global warming alarmist did not want to talk about. That 90% of the warming we are going to get is already in the pipeline and that changes we make will do little to stop it. Think about how we are going to live with it instead.

Most of Central,Western,Northern NJ was not hitted as bad as Jersey Shore by Sandy. Nevertheless, New Jersey is falling back to the stone ages and its looks like a state of ghost cities with no electric power to millions of people, no gasoline, no food, no restaurants and no supplies. The King Obama has no clothes and he is visited New Jersey with the sold-out Gov. Christy who will few say good words about the Naked King and his empty promises for few more billions of dollars for NJ that will not come soon. America’s economy is falling down the cracks with corrupt politicians and millions of regulations of EPA that cuts the fuel supply and kills the economy. It will take weeks or months for the incompetent government to bring things to falsely “normal”. Clearly, Obama and his liberal hordes including Bloomberg are using the crisis to sell the global warming lies and make people miserable for “saving the planet” and sacrificing their quality of life for the planet. America needs great patriotic leaders like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to save the American people from bunch of liberal lunatics led by Obama & co. that will do everything to fix the problems and provide gasoline even if it will not be 100% clean of global warming constituents. It is about saving America from self destruction by Obama and his forty Maoist czars who hate America and will use every crisis to downgrade America to a third world ghost state who live in the same condition that the cave man experienced while claiming that they are “making all efforts” to fix the terrible situations with sheer incompetence.

Obama had 4 years to change the country for the better.

Seriously, can anyone name one good thing this guy's done for America?

I need not explain how he and his corrupt guttertrash Chicago mafia handlers have made everything worse. Simply look around with your own lying eyes for proof.

We need real jobs, not McWalmart jobs.

We also don't need the Obama Administration continuing on it's current path to oblivion without having to worry about re-election. This would be dangerous to our constitution's survival and our pocketbooks.

Romney is owned by the same international bankers as Obama destroying America from overseas.

However by hittig the reset button on the corrupt, power crazed, Obama administration it gives more Americans time to wake up to what is presently happening to America.

In some aspects Obama is right when he says ((("you didn't build/create that, government did.")))

Let's look at what this administration has created in 4 short years and imagine what he can do with 8:

-Socialist eugenics based health care (((Obamacare)))

-NDAA (((National Defense Authorization Act))) where Americans can now be disappeared without a jury

-Out of control (((Crony Capitalism))) where government picks winners and losers based on payouts -not the free market eg. Solyndra, GM, MF Global, Numerous Bank Bailouts, No Prosecution of criminal Banksters

-(((Skyrocketing Unemployment and Outsourcing)))-The idea that welfare checks/EBT cards are paychecks

-(((Fast and Furious))) and other suspected domestic false flags to argue for abolishing the 2nd ammendmant

- Massive (((TSA expansion))) onto America's streets and armed (((survellance drones/now blimps))) operating over US territory.

-(((UN control of U.S. military troops to invade))) Egypt, Syria, parts of Africa, etc. for offshore bankers aka Nazism

-(((Trickle Down Government))) The idea that nothing can be built without (((more government bureaucrats and global warming regulations/taxes))) getting in the way

-(((Throwing Israel -an important ally- under the bus))) by destabalizing all the county's around it but not offering them any assurances of protection

- A (((continuation of Bush's failed policies))), like not getting out of Iraq, Afghanastan, and no closing of Guantanamo torture camps

-(((Polaraized race relations))) eg. Disrespectful hadling of the Treyvon Martin family after his murder -opportunistic my son would have looked like Treyvon soundbite- and media staged racial infighting between Americans setting up for social conflict right before the 2012 election

-(((No Proof Obama supposedly got Osama)))) America was never really allowed to see the body/proof ; -)

-(((Defunding of NASA))) No exploration of the stars for the U.S., leave that to countries that are exceptional

-(((No Plan/ or Budget to Fix Anything going forward if he is re-elected )))-always says what you want to hear, then does the exact opposite hoping you''ll forget by the next speech -(((Sociopathic Liar)))

-(((Obamaphone)))-Massive expansion of this program for his dependant voting base

-(((Unlimited QE3 leading to hyperinflation/ monopoly money))) Dollar is rapidly losing purchasing power resulting in skyrocketing food and GAS PRICES (especially for "green gas" in CA)

-(((Needed a tainted Creepy Crawley moderator to hold his hand during the 2nd debate))) who helped him dodge hard questions he couldn't answer -(((weak affirmative action President)))

-(((Benghazi Gate)))???

- My favorite (((Legalizing the illegals))) temporarily until the election is over but not offering immigration reform

- The list goes on.

Is this change you can believe in? Is this what you really want another 4 years of?

As Donald Trump would say: Obama you're fired:

Too bad Ron Paul chickened out.

Eventually the sheeple will realize building on the coast is not a smart thing to do. But it'll probably take a few more storms before it sinks in.

Not a dime of taxpayer money should go to rebuilding ANYWHERE that has flooded in the past century.

Move inland and to higher ground.

This is your final warning.

That is the truth but I could build a house that could stand up to that, the only reason we don't is that we have a system of federal backed flood insurance that will allow banks to take the risk of financing building in low areas.

If it were not for the federal government banks would require you to have flood insurance before you built your house in a floodplain and not being subsidized it would cost so much you would choose to live elsewhere. The only people living on the coast would be people who could afford to loose everything.

Where I live we only lost power for a day and a half. My office is in New Jersey and the latest report said we will not have power until Wednesday of next week. Fortunately I can do a lot of my work from home. I agree with the poster that said people should not build houses in the path of hurricanes and expect taxpayers to foot the bill for repairs. Given the fact that most oceanfront property is worth millions they can well afford to pay for their own repairs!

unfortunately, our ports are on the shoreline. a lot of our most fertile ground is in flood plains. We use rivers for transport.

there will always be industry and civilization in these areas...

Effete Hobokeners elected politicians who imposed laws designed to harass decent worker ("middle") class women and men who enjoyed the simple pleasure of partaking an occasional tobacco product in the city's beer joints and within 20 feet of taxpayer owned city buildings. Hoboken politicians accomplished that end.

Now, that same "voting majority" are complaining spending their time and hard earned taxpayer money to achieve those ends resulted in the lack of disaster planning by the very politicians they themselves elected. This has resulted in the voting majority of the city having to compete with gigantic rats in order to find a few morsels of rotted food to feed their starving children.

We optimists are asking why Hobokeners don't look to the sunny-side (so to speak) and be happy with all they and taxpayer funded "junk science" has accomplished?

True. I saw a documentary about New York & Boston & Chicago & other major cites and how they came to be where they are. It was all about the water, at a time when the only transport of goods was by ship.

I realize it's impossible to move NYC or all of New Jersey away from the shore. They're just gonna have to learn to live with storms like these. I think we'll be seeing a lot more like it in the future.

when i met my GF she was looking at buying a house on one of the San Juan Islands in Puget Sound. i told her i wouldn't mind a cabin there, but with earthquakes, tsunamis, ocean storms...nah, i'll take the clean water of our great inland seas to live by.

She has grown to love the mountains on Superior's north coast. we still may buy that cabin by the ocean, but I'm not going to live there...

I was stationed in Bremerton WA and spent a lot of time kayaking around Puget Sound including the San Juan Islands. Gorgeous country, loved the mountains. But I was there in '01 for the 6.8 earthquake; that was enough for me! Now I'm safe & sound on Michgan's east coast.
