Scattered showers expected to break dry spell

Today's early rain caused Collins Elementary School to postpone a much-anticipated field day at the campus in Northeast El Paso for more than 600 kids, said David Zamora, the assistant principal.

"We can't just have the faculty melting in front of the children," he added. We had thought that after this long dry spell it would be safe to go outside, now everyone of us will have to give more thought to how we plan the schools activities." Zamora refused to identify the witch.
