FEMA prepares New Orleans for a possible hurricane-strength Isaac

WASHINGTON Emergency officials breathed a sigh of relief as the center of Tropical Storm Isaac moved past Tampa and the site of the Republican National Convention, but planners ramped up preparations in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast as the storm appeared to gather strength and march toward Louisiana and Mississippi.

Jindal did just great !! He evacuated people in danger areas, mandatory evacuations. The mayor did much better than the "other one"....one levee did break, but because the preparations have been so much better so far, no injuries or deaths.

Yet here we have morons needing rescuing at the cost of taxpayers, not to mention people having to put their lives on the line all due to sheer stupidity.

I think that cold front will pull it more north next 24 hours towards Pensacola. New Orleans will not be hit. FL Panhandle is where landfall will be.
It will be a cat 2 or 3 then race up north of Atlanta into E TN as a D with 28 mph winds there and lots of rain.
My forecast was correct. It did not hit New Orleans and came within 50 miles of Pensacola so thanks for the peanuts but you were wrong. It went in east of New Orleans. Sorry nutcases who lack knowledge.

Likely Republican nuts that have lost the election again.

I come to realize that since Reagan left office there are only a few real Republicans out there while most are just argumentative right wing nutcases which is why I am pleased to give you this poll and it is the only one that counts.

Obama pulls way ahead of Romney during the Romney convention of all times lol

270 needed to win and 300+ for a landslide. This close to the election; be sure it is over and Obama has a second term.

Jindal says DROWN. He hates the federal government so he says DROWN.

He says lose your property. He says DROWN.

He does not care. Those levees are not built by BP or Chevron or Walmart. They are built by GOVERNMENT. Since Republiscum pay NO TAXES they are not yours. They are ours.

The Republiscum lying garbage that is Jindal.

Republiscums want the levees, the bridges, the roads, the coast guard, the army corps of engineers, the boats, the planes, the weather service...everything. Republiscum JUST WANT YOU TO PAY FOR IT ALL FOR THEM.

Republiscum = leeches. GET OUT.

"Yesterday, as delegates gathered in Tampa to nominate Mitt Romney for president in the name of less government, less spending and less interference in state matters, Louisiana's Republican governor, Bobby Jindal, stepped up to a microphone and, with Hurricane Isaac on the way, not only demanded federal cash and assistance, but also complained that the cash and assistance already offered by the president -- the allegedly socialist wealth-redistributor president -- wasn't enough.

...Several years ago, Jindal, like Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, vocally opposed the stimulus but couldn't wait to beg for a slice of the money. In Jindal's case, he even gleefully posed for a photo opportunity with a gigantic sweepstakes-sized stimulus check.

You might also recall Jindal's flop-sweat inducing response to the president's State of the Union address in which Jindal snarked about government spending on transportation and "volcano monitoring." It slipped nicely into the on-going attack on the president as a "wealth redistributor" -- a communist, a Marxist, a European socialist. But then, when the stimulus was passed, and yesterday when Louisiana was confronted with another natural disaster, and when Jindal faced the obvious reality that states -- any state -- are incapable of mitigating and responding to natural disasters, he begged for wealth that's been redistributed from New Yorkers, Californians, Oregonians and Hawaiians with their silly volcano monitoring.(Thanks to Sorkin for inspiring that last part.)" Jindal to Obama: please, please, please save my smelly ass!

Jindal to Obama: when the **** are you coming to save me using taxpayer money from California and New York?

Jindal to Obama: oh, there you are. Thank GOD!

Jindal to Obama:**** you.

You can try, but you can't re-write history, and you can't lie to us and say it didn't nail New Orleans. We've gotten less than 5 inches of rain in Pensacola, as of this writing. Our beaches were never closed.
Now run off and make up some more fairy tales, you little queen. BTW- learn to read a map- it hit land (1st time) SSW of New Orleans.<quoted text>
