I have a deep love for New Orleans, but Braithwaite is a serene jewel. I would love to live there. Floods don't scare me but the apathy the Government has shown New Orleans does. There seems to be so many empty houses in Braithwaite. What's going to happen to them if they don't sell? Will they be torn down? Will people return if they raise the levies? Is it safe? What will happen to insurance rates, if they go up to 20,000.00 a year who can afford a double Mortgage? People need to start talking and pushing for more assistance.
