Goodwill launching donation push following slow start to year

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is launching a "March Gladness" initiative to increase donations following a dramatic dip since January that it is attributing to the unusual cold weather.

DO NOT DONATE TO GOODWILL!! THEY ARE A FOR PROFIT COMPANY AND HELP NO ONE! If the Red Cross sends gives you a voucher and you take it to Goodwill, the Red Cross has to pay them. Yes, it's true. Goodwill's charter states NOTHING is to be given away for free. Nothing. If you're homeless and looking for a coat, Goodwill will not and can not give you one. The DAV will. The Salvation Army will. Good will is a company whose stock is publicly traded and each state is independent of the others. They have fifty CEOs and they all make salaries in the high six digits. PLEASE donate your stuff to a local charity, one that actually helps it's community!!

I stopped taking old clothes to Goodwill after reading about what the CEO and local directors receive as pay.

Now I take everything to Salvation Army.
