This was written by Mr Jim Davis, a resident of Alaska, who has personal knowledge of the Brown family. The original post which was copied from this group by ALU can be found in the files section of the above group on FB. There is a lot more info about the Brown family that can be found in this group. Some members in this group are the people that have been scammed by Billy Brown. Les Branson, Ami’s brother, is also a member. This is a discussion group, not a fan page, although everyone is welcome to join this group and can stay as long as you follow the groups guidelines. Thank you”
One thing he (Billy) does is “barter” then never fulfills his part of the barter. He also borrows stuff and money and never returns or repays the money. Someone from Texas said he even stole from his grandmother and sold her jewelry and other stuff.
He also mooches off relatives when he visits them and even back before Alaska “borrowed” money to start a plumbing business.
In Port Protection, he moved into the widow Sorenson’s house on Lot 29 with the promise he would pay their permanent funds each year to buy the house for $50,000. After the second October went by and he had not paid her a penny of their 5 PFDs,(at the time there were just 3 boys), he still wouldn’t move out and Mrs Sorenson was living in the lower 48 and what could she do? Jack Mason finally bought the house for $55,000 and Billy finally moved out and left for Haines.
abp
I saw his pot growing operation downstairs and the heavy wire running through the woods to the Wooden Wheel Cove Trading Post’s generator where he was stealing electricity to grow pot. He also left tons of garbage that Jack paid to have cleaned up.
When he left for Haines, he took two vehicles that were not his loaded with stuff like the community generator, Bob Hite’s chainsaw, Buddy Baker’s large wall tent and owing Jack at the store and a friend of mine, Maynard Daum who ran a little church there, money that was lent him because he said he was heading to Texas to get his father’s vast fortunes to invest in Jack’s store and Maynard was just a kind-hearted Christian that Billy took advantage of.
Billy went north on the ferry to a piece of property in the Mosquito Lake subdivision about 22 miles from Haines where he told people he was a Vietnam vet and other lies and again spent the next 7 to 10 years there “borrowing” money,“bartering” and growing pot.
abp
Sherrie Brewington lived near them for 7 years till he left there owing her money and stealing her son’s guns worth about $10,000 including an expensive one that had been her son’s grandfathers and his gold nugget watch passed down from his great grand father.
Billy never nor any of the Brown “boys” ever worked as commercial fisherman other than maybe a few days over the last 30 years. They didn’t hunt or fish much even when they were in very game rich areas and fish rich areas like around Haines and Prince of Wales Island. Billy has been using his children’s stories CDs as a scam to raise money to make more CDs but his 70 to 80 children’s stories he says he has written don’t seem to be available anywhere? His books, YouTube videos, websites full of lies are now showing contradictions to the TV shows so now those are being taken down.
abp
Even when the Browns would show up in Texas, they would show up in broken down motor home and pretending to be broke and then relatives would buy them groceries and other supplies and lend him money though he probably had stuff stored away? He never repaid them or thanked them or visited again till he needed help again. They drove around the lower 48 from WA state to California to Texas to Tennessee and back to WA state and ferry to Alaska, conning people and especially churches to raise money to get back to Alaska and free places to stay.

Some of those years between 2007 and 2014, they applied for and got money from the Alaska Permanent Fund fraudulently and have now been indicted by a grand jury on 63 counts of felonies, unsworn falsification for filling out the application in the spring for 4 years and then felony theft when they received the money in October of 4 different years. All that and dozens of other scams and a continuous stream of ripping people off by various ways not to mention food stamp and welfare fraud.

He also sold a boat to Buddy Baker for a thousand dollars cash that he still owed the $1500. to Chris Dahl and never paid Chris a dime. The boat was ruined anyways, tied up to Buddy Bakers floathouse with the engine not running and a couple years of garbage in it and in buddy’s floathouse that he had been using also.

I enjoy watching the Brown family. There is so much garbage now a days on TV that it is nice to watch something wholesome. This family is a close family with respect for each other. You don't see that now a days neither.

I agree with Happy Fan. I truly enjoy watching this real life family. They are considerate of each other, they only use what they need, they respect the land they have and believe in their parents (a rare behavior these days). I hope we get to continue to watch them even unto their marriages and children! They Rock!!

Yeah right. Thats why they live such a high profile life on tv etc. State police come by and have no warrants for these felonies. People seem to continue bartering with them as much as they need to and the families in the lower 48 havnt been in their life for decades.

I think they made clear they get home schooling. Those kids are smarter and more well spoken than kids their ages in the lower 48. Besides the little girl is the only school aged child.

Am I the only one that noticed that the "Full" oil drums they were delivering had the plugs out of them. If you are going to make it look like you are delivering something full at least have the damn plugs in them and put something in the so it doesn't sound hollow. And I really believed the 2 girls could roll a 55 gallon drum down the steep ramp without it rolling over them. This show is a fucking joke.

Bill and Ami Brown have 6 adult offspring and 1 minor child living with them. Their adult son "Bam-Bam" Joshua Brown wrote an article entitled, "My Life My World My Dream" to encourage the sales of his Dad's book. Sadly, his essay demonstrates that he is illiterate because he cannot correctly spell the simplest 1 syllable words in his article that is commonly taught in all 4th. grade public schools. Ami married when she was 15 years old and is a high school dropout.

I noticed that also..when they dropped a "Fuel" can on the boat..sounded all to EMPTY! The 55 gal drum even bounced and hit Matt's ankle. Full fuel 55 gal would not bounce...I even re rounded it several to see that..noticed cap on 1 drum. If Billy is abusive, Ami mother noticed something..I didn't noticed and no one knows their kids like a mother. I have also noticed Billy does a lot of nothing. Barking orders at his kids..he helped a little when building they're house..if they really built it.

There sure is a lot of he said she said bad mouthing going on about the Browns without anybody showing any actual proof. I truly doubt that the Discovery Channel producers wouldn't have done their homework on the Browns or make a fake show and risk potential lawsuits or loss of revenue. It seems to me that gossip and badmouthing people is the main theme of entertainment for these internet posts and also for the people in Hoonah and anywhere else near the Browns. I doubt very much the Browns are the bad people you all have portrayed.

Anybody who believes these scammers are for real- congratulations on your successful lobotomy. Nobody could possible be that stupid otherwise. I know the world is full of pathetic losers looking to make heroes of even the worst sort of lowlife trash, but c'mon- get real.

Fatboy Billy and his boys have been charged with felony fraud and will end up doing time in the Alaskan prison system- I see it now:

Alaskan Bush People Prison Housewives where those loser boys finally find wives.

That atrociously ugly and dumb wife- no hope there. Fatboy Billy will be the gangbang pass-around for the various prison groups.

Unless we all get lucky and the crappy boat the scum family springs a leak and they all drown at sea. We can only hope.
