Or maybe they can continue to use a legal and well regulated material on their own crops and you could move out of this agricultural area. I hear places like New York, Chicacgo, Detroit, and Cleveland are wonderful places to live (outside of that lead poisoning that they get from drive by shootings).
By and large, the defoliants are the same products that have been used for over 40 years and yet many people CHOOSE to move into agriculture areas and expect the entire economy to change because they get the sniffles.
It's simple, don't like it here; then move somewhere else where you can whine about that place.

No it's pretty simple.
If you don't like the desert, don't buy a home in Phoenix.
If you don't like snow, avoid the northern states and Canada.
If you don't like sharks, don't buy a home on the coast.
If you don't like high crime rates, don't live in the inner cities,
If you don't like the agricultural practices that have been in place for decades, don't live in the mid-south.
No one is forcing you to live in the area. Move away to an area that is more to your liking.
